Not going to say he's got it yet. He needs a full 30s on the climb I think - he lost 15 last time and the attacks will be at least as strong while he has gone pretty deep to both hang in last time and to push ow.

Better and better for Dowsett and looks like it'll be over 45s before the climb

e: over 50s - chasers have failed miserably and now holmes attacks

Really nice teamwork by brändle. He looked dead already last lap but found a second breath again annoying the chase.

Congratulations Downsett. Now all we can hope for is a little bit of GC action on the last climb.

2020 has been a bit like my first 10+ years of watching cycling, when a Brit winning in a grand tour was few and far between.
Dowsett truly is the Chris Boardman of 2020

What a ridiculous effort by the chasers.

Ended up pretty much within the distance they lost by refusing to work with each other and it's exactly the same strength of rider as before lol.

Massive win for Alex if he closes this out. Very happy to see him come good, especially on a finish that really wasn't suited to him
