Seems to be dry today around Napoli, but a slight chance for some drizzle, potentially resulting in slippery roads.
Slippery roads?

Matthews just said that it's a good day for the break, and they will try to get a strong team mate in there. Wanty wants to try as well. Most others seem to believe it'll be a sprint, so far.

What's the point of these big climbs in the sprint stages. They are ridden so slowly that it makes no difference in the end.

How are the organisers supposed to know that the Pedersen/Matthews types don't want to take advantage of the opportunities they get?

They don't want to because the whole team would have to work all day, not just on the climb but also after to not let the slower sprinters join.

Maybe they are some of the time. Far from all the time.

It makes the stage far more open. We should have a better break today, and we've often seen teams drilling such climbs to drop competitors, just recall some of the sprint stages in Sicily.

You know the organisers can just make any kind of stage they want ? It doesn't have to be 'sprint', 'mountain' 'time trial ' etc.

In campania is difficult to do stage without hills anywhere

Trek getting ready to block the road already. Hopefully they won't be successful

Big conundrum for the sprinters today. If the break isn't gone before Chiunzi a lot of them are dropping on the climb, but it will be difficult to have a controllable group getting up the road before that.

Ha, sounds less like any Dutch word with a similar meaning than I expected.
Makes me think more of 'oud brood', which is 'old bread'
Thank you though, always interesting.

A direct translation to Dutch would be uitbreek.

Boring breakaway and De Marchi being in it means Jayco won't push it on the climbs. Full bunch sprint was always the most likely outcome but even more so now.
