Yesterday we concluded that wet southern Italian roads are made of ice rink, today it's time to conclude that dry southern Italian roads are made of beds of nails. That's an impressive amount of punctures so far. Milan alone has had two, the amount of pressure on his tyres given his size can't help.

It's actually 'uitbraak' then, because 'uitbreek' is not really a noun and in meaning much closer to something like 'to demo a kitchen'.
'Uitbraak' is a possible synonym for 'escape' or 'attack' in cycling lingo here. For volcano eruptions, we use 'uitbarsting' (like 'outburst').

Anyway, back to the race!

Last thing for full disclosure:

Oudbrood would be gammelbrød in Danish.

I just don't understand why this Giro parcours was seen as really hard. It's super boring? As if riders were going to race all those sprintstages with some hills in the beginning like one day races.

There's like 4 hard GC stages apart from the TTs, rest are either sprints or (not even hard) breakaway stages.
