A shame that they've elected not to throw in one of the hills near Vlorë on stage 3 (there's a 2.4k at 9.4% climb right there), but this is still fairly good and therefore insanely good by RCS foreign Grande Partenza standards.

Yes it's disappointing, I knew of that climb and it would've made a great little circuit at the end of the stage. That said, stage 1 is much better than I expected so can't complain too much.A shame that they've elected not to throw in one of the hills near Vlorë on stage 3 (there's a 2.4k at 9.4% climb right there), but this is still fairly good and therefore insanely good by RCS foreign Grande Partenza standards.
Anyone have profile of stage 1 final climb?
That first ITT screams Kung and Ganna to me.
Remco
if he has recovered by then
Evenepoel seems unlikely because he has announced a full Ardennes schedule already and because Roglic is the one doing the Giro promo vids so you'd assume he's getting the Giro Bag.
He can easily be back in shape in May I'd think, but most of the focus seems to be on the Tour.
Depending on how the recovery is going it would be no surprise to see Catalunya added to his early season scheduleBut he isn't starting until April.
Thus, he really needs race days before the TDF. Giro is perfect for that
If Red Bull send the A team with Roglic then the GC could be over soon too.Van Aert could win all three stages if he showed up.

Rogliç, Hindley, Tratnik and Martinez already confirmed. Probably take Fisher-Black? And a small sprint train for Welsford or Pithie? If Red Bull send the A team with Roglic then the GC could be over soon too.
Fisher Black said in an interview: he will Not Ride the Giro. He will Ride the ardennes, some one week races for GC and hopefully the tour or VueltaRogliç, Hindley, Tratnik and Martinez already confirmed. Probably take Fisher-Black? And a small sprint train for Welsford or Pithie?

I don´t think so. It seems it will be a full dedicated team for GC with Roglic, DFM, Hindley, Tratnik, Aleotti and Sobrero (according to some X users ) with Pelizzari as first reserve, so I think the other two spot will go to riders like Denz, Moscon, Van Dijkes, Koch, Maciejuk or Mullen. Will they take a sprinter to the Giro?
Isn't Grappa part of the dolomites? On a side note, there isn't a stage that even goes into the Dolomites... This would be the first Giro for many years that avoids the Dolomites completely?
I've been disappointed with the lack of opportunities for Welsford honestly. His early season form was really good and for me deserved at least the Giro last year. Pithie probably a chance though given he'd probably work for Roglic on the flat and wouldn't need much support for opportunities by himself.I don´t think so. On the other hand for the Tour Van Poppel and Meeus are in the long list according to recents interviews.
Welsford started very well, but the truth is that it began to disappoint before being left out of the Giro.I've been disappointed with the lack of opportunities for Welsford honestly. DVP is really a lead out rider honestly, never seen him as a finisher
The environment goes out the window when money's involved.Flying between countries again, ironic that the header page of CW today is highlighting the environmental cost of the world tour.
