Upping the pace could lead Del Toro isolated before the final climb even starts. Plus you can always drop Bernal on the final climb, if he's really suffering.

It would be totally unexpected for the Giro to be between Gee and Caruso at 400 years .

Last year, Caruso was very poor at the Giro. This year, he looks strong.

Would be vintage Giro for some random fringe GC guy and an ancient Italian man to fight it out for the win though

Del Toro would be leading this race with 3 minutes of UAE didnt chase him on stage 9 and stage 15. You can add him basically covering moves after Ayuso on stage 7 and some bonus that Ayuso stole as well during the race
