Maybe he changes back after midnight.........probably went too deep yesterday. The glass slipper didn't fit, Storer has turned back into a pumpkin.

I'm pretty sure if the route was much harder Carapaz would have pink by 1 minute+ alreadyJust another example of riders wanting to race but the terrain not allowing it. Imagine if we had a half descent route, we'd have a potentially all time great edition.

More climbing than descending on this route.Just another example of riders wanting to race but the terrain not allowing it. Imagine if we had a half descent route, we'd have a potentially all time great edition.
In case you are serious and didn't watch the stage Ayuso was dropped in the grupetto with the sprinters before the road went uphill. What happened to Ayuso? Did he work for Del Toro at all today?
My impression is that Del Toro got a gap on the same corner that Yates also gapped the rest of the chasing group. The chasers got back up to Yates, but Carapaz and Bardet could not catch Del Toro. I may be wrong. I didn't have the quad cast turned on.Still not sure how Del Toro got the gap. 2.4 km to go it was Del Toro with Carapaz on his wheel taking a drink. Then the pictures switched to the chase group. We don't see the leaders again till 1.7 km to go - Del Toro has a 10m gap and it's game over. Did anyone have the multi-screen up to see whether Carapaz missed a corner?
I don‘t think it‘s an issue if it‘s possible to catch attackers on some of the mountain stages.Horrible route. And the mentioned hard stage on Friday has the last category 1 climb topping at 21 kms from the finish. So an attacker may be caught again.
You can blame lots of it on strongman strategy by EF and Ineos keeping the heat on, as I was thinking that Del Toro was running out of battery, but we were wrong, his legs were slightly slower but given less grade and some downhill he just wicked up typical leg speed and he carries speed really well.Storer lost 4 minutes today.

I am serious - I only started watching on the Mortirolo. Ayuso dropped before Tonale? That's really shocking. In case you are serious and didn't watch the stage Ayuso was dropped in the grupetto with the sprinters before the road went uphill.
The problem is that the strongest climbers get hindered. This race has literally 1 proper MTF (Stage 16) and one puncheur's finish (Stage 7). With a proper route this race would have been much better.I don‘t think it‘s an issue if it‘s possible to catch attackers on some of the mountain stages.
Del Toro did same thing @3-4 times in last kilometers, he picked a slightly different entry point, looked wrong like he was making an extreme entry exit angle, sort of thinking he would crash!! But others inside looked to momentarily stop pedaling or more careful, he rolled away ..position and speed, bike handling looked like Carapaz and Del Toro looked way better than Bardet..he didn't have the juice for the curves.. Chasers looked like they took different line in same corners as 3 right in front of them!! Del Toro looked like he was going to barrier bang for sure.. Don't know how he didn't!!My impression is that Del Toro got a gap on the same corner that Yates also gapped the rest of the chasing group. We've come full circle, from people lamenting the number of MTFs to people crying out for more of the.The problem is that the strongest climbers get hindered. Bernal and Tudor can both just follow Del Toro plan, and get a good day after a bad one.Bernal has lost a minute.
I just had a look at it. It looks like Carapaz lets a small gap open just before a couple of turns, which Del Toro then take a little bit faster, and then he looks back and notices he has a small gap, and then just goes all out.Still not sure how Del Toro got the gap. 2.4 km to go it was Del Toro with Carapaz on his wheel taking a drink. According to what? A bad day (as was pointed on TV) after the rest day?A stage for Del Toro, but I think Carapaz will win the overall. He wasn't intelligent in his attack at Mortirolo today, but the Friday and Saturday stages propably are too hard for Del Toro.
People get tired! And yet Bardet had the juice to beat Carapaz ?
Carapz let del Toros wheel go ...not sure why but he did
Stages of less than 100 km.According to what? A bad day (as was pointed on TV) after the rest day?
I have switched back and forth between Del Toro and Carapaz over the last week, and while I would put Carapaz as the favorite, we really don’t have a clue how Del Toro will respond yet.
A lot of these prognostications on here read like a bunch of folks huffing hopium.
All we know is that the last time Del Toro rode the big mountains was the 2023 Tour de Avenir stage that finished on the Col de Loze (a monster climb).
He won that stage ahead of Riccitello and putting 1:14 into 2025 forum climbing hero/revelation… Gino Pellizari.
That’s all we have to go on besides a bad day yesterday.
