Not on the descent though . . .I don't think taking a dump will help him, although losing weight could be advantageous.

Giving up 2nd to have a chance for 1st makes sense, that's the difference. Especially when you have been on the podium in all GTs already and have won the giro before. Del Toro strategy was to gamble on the fact Carapaz would chase Yates to protect on his second place, Carapaz took the bait a few time but then called the bluff. They can share the blame, but at this point Carapaz is clearly giving up 2nd out of spite.
I've seen plenty of del toro criticismsI know he's well liked but not seeing very little criticism of Del Toro's riding especially compared to Carapaz is surprising. He completely bottled it today regardless of whether he had the legs or not. He didn't even try to win this Giro. I understand not having the legs but he's done absolutely nothing to defend his jersey today.
In a race with the finish at the top. If you look at the climbing times before today there's a direct relation with the distance to the finish, with Froome being slower than Landa and Rujano.Oh please... the record was hold from a 18 years old kid.
Nutrition, of course...How is everyone so much better now? 5 minutes faster than Froome in 2018 and Contador in 2015.
But at least he'll still be offered some turkey at Christmas dinner.Adam Yates has to be one of the biggest disappointments of this Giro. His brother is the virtual maglia rosa while he is unable to help his leader when he needs the most.
