Most hilarious scenario would be UAE coming back and Adam Yates closing the gap to make his brother lose.

I know he's well liked but not seeing very little criticism of Del Toro's riding especially compared to Carapaz is surprising. He completely bottled it today regardless of whether he had the legs or not. He didn't even try to win this Giro. I understand not having the legs but he's done absolutely nothing to defend his jersey today.

They can share the blame, but at this point Carapaz is clearly giving up 2nd out of spite.

How do you arrive at this conclusion, he has been working most of the time on the climb, he just could neither drop del Toro, not pull back any time to Yates.
IMO the best explanation isn't spite but being dead. As if they'd just throw it away like this.
The problem isn't Carapaz, it's del Toro refusing to work for most of the time.

Stupid gamble by Del Toro and will leave the giro as a result of it.
Yates struggled at San Pellegrino, but UAE decided to wait for Ayuso, knowing he was in bad shape.

And today they didn't know how to advise him.

Del Toro had a bad stage, but he's very young. The team shouldç ve advised him better.
Why do they have an earpiece?
