Haven't checked the whole thread, maybe someone already mentioned this. Scarponi said

20 people? Can it be?

Cavendish would have to use all his power to hold on in the grueling last 100 meters. :p

Of course it will be a sprint.

Wow, two races separated by an ocean, both worthy of only watching the last 10 km. I wonder if this was planned?

At least I'll be able to get some work done tomorrow.:D

Looks like 6-7-8 m/s from the North in Pescara, a bit of crosswind potential!!!?
10m/s in Termoli...
Oh, God, let it be so!

Calling it with my heart:
Breakaway-echelon of 25 riders to stay away, Contador to lose 6 minutes on some top-10 rider.

Nieve is too important to Antón to attack on a flat stage. Bakelandts and Tschopp are more likely to squabble over the GPM then drop back into the péloton. And if the GC leaders let Kiryienka or Pozzovivo gain time going up the road, they're absolutely f'ing stupid.

Given how few sprint stages there are, it will probably be a sprint (especially given the almost totally straight run-in). Wednesday is more likely for the break and GPM-hunters.

If Kiryienka and Pozzovivo don't get too much of a lead on gc (if one of them gets the gc through a break) then they aren't stupid at all. no disrespect to them but they aren't major threats to the gc.

maybe someone should suggest he reads the stage profiles before choosing to do a Grand Tour next time - Crybaby at it again what did expect coming in to this Giro ?

Why do people hate Cav so much? In my opinion he's by far the most interesting of the cyclists I have on twitter. He has a sense of humour, and he actually comes across quite humble and libeable on Twitter.

Still, even if you don't like him, the constant crybaby comments are quite tiresome. Just like the Cancellara C0cky C0ck comments from someone else (forgot who), the Contador D0pey D0per comments, Andy Whiney Whiner, etc... Sure, no one likes all riders, but do we really need to be reminded of that fact every single post?

Do you have a google alert setup so you can come along with this crybaby **** everytime someone mentions him? Get a better hobby.

Since when did making a light hearted comment = crybaby? After the previous stages and the struggle up Etna i dont imagine he is the only sprinter eagerly looking forward to today's stage.

Winning is like a drug for Cav, the longer he goes without victory the more antsy and eager he gets.

Before criticising posts by people, try and make an effort to understand concepts like humour, sarcasm and irony.

as Ive written it maybe 3 times in the last 2 days and never before maybe Its not just me and you have me mixed up with someone else.

do you hear pure climbers complaining about TT as much as Cav complains about mountains ?

He will probably win today but 10 meters cause he is a bit angry - but we knew this Giro was hard before it started.

Yeah, Cav is definitely a whiner on his twitter. Some of his twits might a in jest, but some are definitely not.

You don't hear Contador or Menchov complain about all the flat stages and no time trials at the Tour. Even on practically flat stages with a little bump at the end Contador out performs you. No one likes a one trick pony Cav.

He knew what to expect before he started this Giro. Instead of just looking at the profiles he should have re-conned some of the stages he thought were going to end in mass sprints. You know, do some f*cking effort will ya.

You can say it once, twice or even three times, but if you're going to do it multiple times a day then it's going to work on someone's nerves... And I can't blame them.

My money is on Cav for this (literally). I don't think a break will stay away as HTC wont let them. Cav has clearly stated he wants this one and i think (and hope) he will pull it off.

There's rain and strong wind in the area; I would be curious to see if it's by side as the route goes along the coast.
It would make things much more interesting.

The finish is just shallow enough to ensure Cav competes for the victory (unlike stage 8, which was too steep for him, and just steep enough to keep him from the victory. He'll be pushed back into 2nd, 3rd or 4th.
