Simoni tried one of the earlier breaks so the only reason Lampre chased down the second was because there was no Lampre guys in it.

They will be wanting Simoni in a break. And plan B is Cunego if the break comes back.

Stage 17

I think Porte and Arroyo will lose more time today but not a huge amount. Don't think the break will stay away. Could be another showdown on the last climb even though this stage is not seen as a significant one as it is much easier than some of the stages coming up. Would not mind seeing Cunego or Gadret win one.

Wouldn't mind either out of Wyss, Efimkin, Cummings or Sorenson winning. That said I think Ignatiev will win if the breakaway survives.

If the GC boys don't crank it up on this climb the break (or at least some of them) ought to make it to the finish.
