You have to remember they all know there is tomorrow as well.

Going deep and risking it all on a long range attack today, may cost them the Giro tomorrow.

If gaps were 3-4 minutes we'd see long range today, but gaps being what they are I don't think so.

Mind you I'm talking about the top 4 - below that people will try.
I definitely understand that, I just have a gut feeling today is going to become a day to stick the knife in at least one of the top 3, then the race dynamic becomes "Full speed ahead, and worry about tomorrow tomorrow." Note, my gut has let me down before... ;-)

Peloton at the rhythm of Baroncini is the worst scenary for Del Toro's rivals.

EF, pulling at the first group, is preparing something.
No...? There's below 60 sec between Carapaz and Del Toro. Carapaz will go at the middle of Col de Joux.

He was due to retire at the end of the year, but has now decided to stop at the end of the Giro instead
Actually he was scheduled to retire after TDS - with possibly a selection for the Danish national team at the Tour of Denmark in august (after being out of contract with IPT).

It's unclear if he still rides in august, but to me it seems unlikely with the race 2.5 months away and him being out of contract on Sunday.
