Nothing going on right now, finish won't be for at least two hours.

Has anyone managed to see what degree of pink colour co-ordination Wiggo is rocking today?

Just a pink shirt .... rest of the kit looks like the usual Sky outfit

Hushovd update: He's getting operated on in Basel tomorrow. The accident occured in the Sanremo area.

If the op is tomorrow, who knows, that six week time-frame might be reduced.

Ouch... Belgian commentary team is saying that Thor Hushovd had a major accident training, and broken his collarbone, and will be out for 6 weeks. He crashed into a girl who was crossing the road.

Bad news for his Tour prep :(

I hope you, or rather the Belgian commentary team, are wrong about Thor. :(

I'm counting on him to make things interesting in the TdF.

Edit: Just saw your post about surgery. Oh well. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

It's been confirmed, sadly.

Someone posted a translated link in the General News thread. :(

Cervelo is not having the best of luck in their sophmore year.

Bad news indeed. Cervelo's Spring season misery continues it seems.

Been watching RAI. Even they are having technical problems with the picture feed, so this nothing Eurosport can do about it.

Wow, about Thor. Talking of which, anybody know which Saxo rider has been on the deck? I saw the picture but missed the name....

Gazzetta is showing Utrecht. Bad weather causing satellite picture break-up? Has anyone got feed of the cycling?

Greipel for the win, even without a top quality train/not feeling well. Thinking he'll be in pink by the end of today as well as I'd be surprised if Henderson beats out Farrar for the necessary second place.

I'm glad to see Brad is following the approved rules of wearing a leader's jersey. Matching helmet, but everything else is standard.

There's a tricky tight corner at around 250 feet before the finish. Or was that meters?

The corner isn't particularly sharp from what I've read. It's a 90 degree turn, but is about 100 meters long and finishes about 200m before the finish. Shouldn't cause too many problems

RAI don't have permission to fly, from race radio. So, we won't be having many pictures.
Same thing happened in Belgium in 2006, with them using army frequencies.

Eurosport just announced that the helicopter has been refused permission to fly.

Only pictures from the motor bike today.

That sucks.

Might be a problem in Italy too.

Is the volcano going to have an effect on the Giro? It is spitting out ashes again, and some airports in Europe are closed. There is the possibility that it could all move over to Italy, perhaps closing the airports there and preventing the air transfer on Tuesday. But of coursewe hope that is merely all wild speculation.

We now hear that there is a meeting scheduled this evening to discuss the issue. What will they do if the flighs are cancelled?

The occasional pictures from the race, and not the monkeys at the finish line, shows the entire Sky team at the front with Columbia tucked in along side.
