Well that was an awesome GT, for me the Giro has topped the TdF for spectical for a few years now but this was the best yet.
Congrats to Basso, also to Nibbles and Liquigas they deserve the 1-3 best reminder that this is a team sport I have seen in a while. How many of the team finished?

Well congratulations Larsson and Basso. And thanks to every single rider in the Giro for making this race the best in a very, very long time. And thanks to Moondance for creating these great threads :)

Ditto to all of that.

And thanks to all of you. It's much more fun to have people to share it with.

Allora, forget rider fatigue ... I'm knackered after all these late nights and look forward to resuming usual sleep patterns.

Night all.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts.

I gotta be honest, prior to the giro I did not like scarponi (and despite the whole doping thing), but I really enjoyed watching him race.

Apart from the shambolic dutch stages this Giro had some tremendous routes and got it just about right. I fear the TDF will have too many downhill finishes again- will they ever learn?

say what you want, but the dutch stages were very entertaining imo.
Don't wanna get into another debate about the causes of the crashes though.

Giro orgainisers used the song 'Jump' for Nibali when he went down the ramp

And "Come come my lady" for Kieserlowski. In some parts of the world that would be considered an insult :D

definitely THE best live stream.

and it is stable with (in my experience) highest resolution/broadcast band - good enough for a full computer screen. i also liked the graphics showing current gaps, weather, course profile and the simultaneous text updates.

+1 this. Also they did an excellent job of showing the group compositions in the video feed when the camera focused on one.

In general I usually go to steephill.tv to find a video feed. There is usually at least one that is decent, often multiple for the larger races.

And they had 'Woman on a Mission' by Gabrielle Cilmi playing when Sastre came over the finish line........i thought it was hilarious

It was a great Giro and despite not being happy with the result, I have seen some incredible racing in trying conditions at times.

Congrats to Basso and Liqidgas - best rider and best team won on the day

Big congrats to Arroyo - he fought hard to stay on that podium and totally deserves to be there.

Congratulazioni Basso - and welcome back. This is the result he needed. Liquigas were clearly the strongest team. Watching them plow up the big climbs in the two previous days it became very obvious nobody outside that team was going to win this thing.

Also, big thank you to the Giro organizers for choosing a course that was interesting throughout. Even the days that should have been boring were not. The rain conspired to make that strade bianche stage one I'm not going to forget anytime soon. I think I need to get this year's dvd b.c. I missed enough live coverage due to work/time zone.

Thanks to moondance for these threads.
