Anyone know where to find the close up maps of the finish route? According to Cav twitter it will be "****ing carnage". The corners might make it harder to chase back any attackers.

Anyone else thing Farrar has lost his speed during the classics? The few stages I watched last week during the Presidential Tour of Turkey didn't have him looking too impressive.

To be honest, Farrar sprints haven't impressed me all season long, outside of that one Tirreno-stage. His sprints in Kuurne and Gent-Wevelgem were below his usual level, and it has only become worse since then. I'm curious to see how he will perform this Giro.

I think he has three or four wins other than TA this season. But it seems that he wins when his competition isn't in the best form.

In his defense, his leadout totally collapsed after the turn yesterday. Looked like Fischer pulled off way too early.

I don't really know where to find it.
But I can ensure that here in Liguria there are no straights at all.
The descent of the Bocco is particularly difficult. One could attack there, if he wants to.

As for the finale being '****ing carnage', I think Cav was referring to the climbs. I poked around on the Gazzetta website but I couldn't find a map of the finale, it looks dead straight from the overall view:

Sady there aren't a lot of puncheurs in this Giro. Guess most have opted for the Tour because it has better stages for them.

I don't think he meant the climbs, as he posted a map of the final kms, with a lot of twists and turns.

Certainly a snaking finale then, and it looks like it gets narrow too. I don't think Cav has much chance, it'll either be a sprint from a reduced bunch or a move will get away on the last little climb.

I don't believe in a massprint here. I think cassani has said how almost all of these finishes are underrated. he checked them all out. 10% in a final no way sprinters can follow there and after that it is technical and thus very hard to organise pursuit

I have the next four weeks off work, and I can't ride either, so I really have no excuse not to watch the Giro. one of the bright sides of cycling crashes.

If he wants to get away on that last climb, they'll chase him anyway, whether he's way back on GC or not.

Saving energy. Trust me, you'll see Navarro slacking off in a couple of stages as well. Besides, there's more stages than just this one, so losing time on a stage you can't win is always good for a rider of his caliber.

Doesn't really make any sense to me. Riding at the back and getting shelled is not any easier than staying in the peloton and even if it was, if you need to do that then you probably don't have the form to win anyway

Plus it's not like Visconti is a GC threat. Plus staying in the peloton and winning today might mean the pink jersey today or in the coming days
