Oh and with 3km to go they have to come off the highway and swing around back under... that is the 270 degree turn Cav mentioned on twitter. A lot of this will come down to teams/positioning.

If the peloton doesn't cut down the breakaway's advantage pretty soon they might have a chance of staying away, don't you think?

IF there is tailwind, it's possible.

Not really.
It's just the two of them.
Speed in the peloton will go up.

By the way, breakaway has never succeeded in this Giro so far

(I don't count Bart and Weening's victories as breakaway)

Exactly zero chance for them.

Man these last few days have been boring. Even the Strade Bianchi while a good last 1k, wasnt all that. We didnt see the favourites in groups or anything they just waited for the climb.

We really need attacks from first ascent of Etna tomorow to liven it up. At this rate, even a awesome last 10k wont do to save the first half of the Giro.

Might as well use this lack of discussion as an opportunity to ask about the Crostsis. have they taken it out. Does it look like they will?

Personally I would like to see them climb that monster but if they decide to take it out, well you gotta do what you gotta do.

The strade was a very good stage, lots of attacks.
Chaotic racing, was excellent to watch. We don't need the head of state attacking each other to justify entertainment. 40km of entertainment.

As for yesterday.. that avg gradient, without much variation and a pretty strong field was never gonna produce fireworks.

Stage 3 and 4, well I don't think I need to discuss them.

Stage 1 was a TTT, Stage 2 was always gonna be a sprint. No shocks there.
And stage 6 was thoroughly entertaining, an excellent stage, attacks all over the place + an epic sprint.

Really not sure what expectations you had for this... but I think we got as expected.

Stage 8 was always gonna be about the last 3 km also. Probably a sprint?

And yes, tomorrow is probably the first test. But really, Etna isn't that steep either.

Watch out for stage 11... will be epic.

I think they'll take it out. It'll be their sacrificial lamb.
They showed their concern and can come up with a crazy route for next year without much hassle.

Who took the bonification sprint 3rd place???

If that was Sivtsov than Weening has a problem. (Pinotti has worse placings so that wouldn't be a problem)

I agree with you.

Stage 2 = Fairly exciting as far as sprints go (thanks Cav)
Stage 5 = Was very interesting from the point they hit the Strade Bianche climb.
Stage 6 = Final 15km was great and I said then that I'd be happy if it ended in a sprint (because of how hard it was).
Stage 7 = Probably the worst of the lot, but the finish was tense (thanks Niemec).

Lol @ Harmon

Talking about Quickstep chasing, saying the finish is probably too hard for Ciolek and that they are probably riding for Chicchi :p

Yesterday they asked Zomegnan about it and He clearly doesnt want it, Il Falco was there and Angelo told him "You know that every descent is a risk! You have to know how to handle your bike but despite this We are already taking all the security measures that We can! You Know it Paolo! You were there! also you know all the risk that a downhill has cuz You were a great downhiller!"...
Paolo has been trying "to stay with god and the devil" at the same time, namely, trying to support the riders in his security complains but w/o attacking the organization... yesterday I saw that Angelo was kinda mad at him... but Paolo didnt say anything...

But well... Crostis will be there... AH! also Angelo was comparing Gavia with Crostis in terms of crashes... He demain Paolo "How many crashed has We had in the Gavia?? How many crashes did you have in your Giros?"
Angelo is kinda tired of this security complains from the riders from my PoW...
