And now begins an hour and thirty odd minutes of Lance. Time to get some work done.

BTW, does anybody know of a website where one can follow all of the splits - preferably in english as I'm one of those ignorant mono-linguists.

I'm interested in what they're riding too...

LA is running deep section spoked wheels f&r, and clip on bars.

Skinsuit and a road helmet.

I've seen a couple of aero helmets about, though.

In Italian, but I guess you understand the splits...
Official live coverage.
The link above is for the first intermediate, you can switch between intermediates and finish by clicking, under Classifiche di Tappa, INT.1, INT.2, INT.3 and Classifica di tappa.

Ah, perfect, thanks. It's more than navigatable enough. I understand the universal language of numbers.

Tell me what you want, but Mr. Gym freak Lance Armstrong is quite ugly spinning fast that small bicycle uphill.

You got to give him one thing, in TTs he always displays his capacity to really hurt himself...

Lance's has been moving around on his seat: not a good sign. Very upright too, with his tight back.

Some have aero clips and normal helmets, others (Lovkvist) no aero clips but an aero helmet. Sastre seems to have the most TT setup.

Cunego is going slow today too.

Sastre has an aero helmet, and much flatter on his bike than Armstrong. Good stuff for Sastre!

Great effort by Visconti, I think this is the first real target time for the big guns, although others have already beaten his time with almost a minuten at the first intermediate. The difference with the slowest riders today will be immense. What's the time limit actually?

Looks like Lance is at Visconti and Brajkovic's pace at first time check. Either maxxed out, or dosing his early efforts, per what Lokvist seems to be doing.

Maybe the slow starters will do better on this course versus the usual flat TT's where it seems the winners dominate throughout at the time checks.
