Yes, Di Luca is without aero bars. They say he tried them this morning, but afterwards decided not to use them.

Very close between the top GC candidates so far. Will be very interesting to see Menchov, Rogers and Leipheimer and obviously Di Luca through the first checkpoint.

Uumm, Brajkovic takes the lead, and Lance is at Brajkovic's pace...so far. But Lance's muscle/weight looks like it's hurting him on last climb.

Levi/Mechov start like rockets. Maybe he can hold it. But so far, the slower starters are doing better. I'd give the smaller Levi the edge over Menchov at latter end.

Di Luca looks choppy as heck.

How much do Levi and Menchov have to take out of di Luca today to keep the latter off the top spot on the final podium?

Looks like di Luca is very much in the fight so far....today.

If he does not lose the MR to Russian, I am gonna say that Di Luca will win the Giro.

Levi is good. Pellizotti is very good. Basso is OK-this is not 2006.

seems like it's between Garzelli, Menchov and Leipheimer for today's victory...

Di Luca is limiting his losses, so far. About 40-50s.
