The SAECO team was riding frames that were too light and required weights. All the bikes had legalize my cannondale stickers, and they wore these jerseys I think for only one stage.

I think Haussler wasn't riding the race and he was training in the area so he stopped to watch the race go by.

Van der Velde in the famous (& hardest) ever GT-Stage. This poor guy led at the mountain top, but finished like 1 hr. down in the stage, b/c he couldn´t make the descent. So he got in a car after only a couple of km downhill to get warm.

7-Eleven was one of the few teams to see it coming. They went out the night before and bought up tons of ski gloves, and had hot tea waiting at the top.
