Kirby: Rodriguez did well in the Tour of Flanders
Backsted: Flanders? You mean Pozzato
Kirby: No i mean Joaquim Rodriguez
Backsted: No.
Kirby: Oh
Backsted: maybe you mean Flech Wallone
Kirby: oh ok.

Backsted: I know the Basque country so well because I always rode it in the Vuelta, the Basque country is included in the Vuelta almost every year
Harmonn: Indeed.

Paul Sherwen: And here comes Samuel Sanchez of the Euskatel Euskaudi team over the Madeline
Phil Ligger: Hes a poor descender so hell probably get caught.

Kirby: and here comes Ivan Basso
Duffers: Its alejandro Valverde vs Ivan Basso on the Ventoux
Kirby: Ivan Basso is back hes taking it to Alejandro Valverde
Kirby: And weve just got news that Ivan Basso dropped out, so the Liquigas guy working with Valverde at the front, must be someone else.

___

Also anyone got a video from LBL 2010 and Harmonns reactions to Vinos moment of awesomness?

I Love Bettini celebrating while still riding.

Oh yeah, I probably should include a positive one.

Well Italian commentary does rule.

I like this one

Here's another Italian gem:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BY8_caWgBc

Especially the sprint near the end "vai vai vai Paolo" or "ORO... OROO. OROOO"

When Stephen Roche finished only 4 seconds behind Delgado and Ligget's "just like is that Stephen Roche and said there is a rider coming behind Delgado". Sorry for not being excact. Also at the world championships where the SBS commentators said Cadel was competing in a sprint when it was allan davis

I wish people would stop boasting about how they can speak a foreign language by posting something in that language as if everyone was going to understand it.

So Ill bite Pisti.

Well done, you are so great you speak Italian. And yes, we do pay attention to your posts where you constantly remind us that you read Italian cycling papers. If the fact that your signature is in italian wasnt enough.

Now pretty please with a cherry on top, translate the ****ing comment;)

Lol, did they say there were 1.6 million people on the Bola? (around 1.25 mark in the video)

Cos the Zoncolan probably didnt even have a million and that was far more packed.

yep-1,6 to 1.7 million approximately they said:rolleyes: - our commentators are crazy as hell-but very entertaining to hear nonetheless :D

This is the first cycling memory I have. The first Spanish world champion crossing the line with a flat tire with Indurain beating Pantani and Gianetti for the silver medal behind, commentated by Pedro Delgado and the legendary Pedro González, who unfortunately passed away after a sudden heart attack at age 47 four years later.

I love how Indurain goes "nobody f***ing move" when Olano attacks lol.

I know Liggett and Sherwen aren't exactly loved here...

but I vividly remember their description of this.

I too hate to credit tweedledum and tweedledee, but 2 minutes into this still makes my hair stand on end

Nobody knew what was going on, was a total surprise. Remember it like it was yesterday.

edit: noticed someone already posted this a couple of posts above me. Teach me to read page 2.

Great Norwegian commentary from EBH winning Gent-Wevelgem in 2009..listen from 1.40 on...

Norwegian commentary is always hilarious! :D

On Danish Tv2 they have the Dynamic Duo of Dennis Ritter and Rolf Sørensen (Rolf & Ritter) who are sometimes joined by Jørgen Leth. (During the Tour Rolf and Leth take turns in being in the box with Ritter while the other wait at the finish line to conduct interviews, thought they're all in the box for special stages.)

These two exchangements came during LBL this year:

Ritter: Andy standing up. Gilbert standing up.
Rolf: Ritter standing up!
(Rolf himself was already standing at that point)

Ritter: if he [Chris Anker] comes in as #4 it'll be the best Danish placing since you [Rolf] won in 1993.
Rolf: No, I have have a third place.
Ritter: Yeah, in 1991!
Rolf: Oh, yeah...

And during the last stage of the 2009 Tour Ritter managed to spill champagne all over the box...

This isn't exactly commentating but sometimes during Spring Rolf and Ritter go on their annual Rolf and Ritter on Tour (I think it started sometimes around 2008, at least that's the first I remember...) in which they climb some of the famous climbs which will be in the year's Tour. Basically it consists of Rolf going, relatively easy, up the mountain while Ritter trails behind, huffing and puffing. As you can probably imagine that gives Rolf some good mocking reasons!
