Alex Dowsett maybe? Yes: from my adopted county of Essex.
I reckon Luka Mezgec was still in the running: I was surprised noone tried him before checking out the Little Bleeder's birthplace. (and Dani Navarro in as well, if one accounts for the bit of blue in the coat of arms on the Spanish flag, which I would have)

Dowsett is not the only Briton on the WT. I took WT to refer to World Team, not World Tour, sorry if I mislead you.

We seem to have adopted an informal rule of no more than three questions as a time (there are sometimes 4) which seems sensible. Can I suggest a rule that questions should be independent of each other: Asking in one post, "Was his last race in Europe, Was his last race in Oceania, Was his last race in Asia, Was his last race in Antactica, Was his last race in along the watershed of the Urals?" is tantamount to asking the non-Yes or No question "What continent was his last race on?"

What do you mean by "sleight of hand"?

I have never heard the term used before and my Google search explains to me that it is something a magician does with card tricks (something to do with fine motor skills), which I really can't apply to this situation... :)

She did not retire before 2000
She is not permanently inactive

By sleight of hand I mean something which is truthful but with intent that it can deceive. Such as we've had before with, say, Lauri Aus, where after establishing the rider was inactive, all the questions were about when he retired, but Aus never retired because he was killed, so I truthfully answered all of those questions with "no", without drawing attention to the ambiguity of the line of questioning. Similarly somebody else had Serge Baguet, and truthfully answered that he'd retired before 2000, but he of course returned to the sport after then - so this misdirected the line of questioning away from him. With Kononenko you had the fact that his last race was in Turkey, so had the Europe/Asia trick, plus he entered the race for a team from his country (a national team) rather than his trade team.
