Pretty much the whole top ten of the Vuelta Timbuktu were using GW-501516 but no one in the better funded European races are using it. Wonderful. Doping really has been eliminated from euro cycling.

Did they ride above 6.0 w/kg in de Vuelta a Costa Rica? If not, I'm going to chalk this up to a false positive.

Yes there must be some mistake. A handling issue in the lab.

Doping stopped in 2006.

Appears its just a few rouge cyclists from South American.

Not British athletes who don't dope.

There's always a handful of rouge cyclists from dubious countries without morals that spoil of for the Anglo riders.

I'm glad McQuaid is coming down hard on team Pizza Hut.

It may look like McQuaid likes Pizza and Coke but he will not have these teams destroying cycling.

Agreed. Pretty clear they are serving up no name riders for this drug probably the whole peloton uses, to get them to dial it down lest another scandal happen.

We’ve also been told that riders within the pro peloton have their own suspicions and doubts when they see spectacular performances along with substantial decreases in body fat. Our sources suggest it’s unlikely that the use of GW1516 and AICAR is widespread, but with WADA testing for these substances, we’ll soon find out when good riders start gaining weight and not performing anymore.

premise is they WANT to catch them.

If Brailsford can fly to Aigle and Amaury Sport, and say, please give me this type of race, two long chronos, a prologue, and three hilltop finishes where the final climb is maximum of 15km and 7percent, and no switchbacks,

do you think they do their darndest to catch the winners?

Do you think Brazil will catch any athletes in the next 3 years leaving up to the next Olympics? No chance.

Do you think that Britain miraculously found prior fore invisible talent in all olympic disciplines?

god no dawkins

anyone know the half life of the chemical and the metabolites to show in the urine?
I have heard the detection window of GW-501516 is 40 days

really easy to detect too. stable enough to test retroactively, i'd think

EDIT: it appears this 40 days number is WRONG. I don't know where I got it from. anyway, here is the paper by Thevis et al about the detection method: http://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s00216-009-3283-x/fulltext.html
a quote from the conclusion: "Considering therapeutic dosages of GW1516 of 2.5 mg/day as administered, e.g., in phase IV clinical trials regarding the regulation of lipoprotein transport in metabolic syndrome [5], detection windows for the metabolites of GW1516 of up to 4 days are expected following cessation of the drug." Remark that typical dosages reported on those steroid forums are more in the order of 10s of mg per day

EDIT2: the source where I read about the 40 days is this article vy joe lindsey. "What’s more, clinical research shows that the drug is detectable as long as 40 days after a single dose.", he claims here. bicycling.com/blogs/boulderreport/2013/04/11/next-generation-drug-use-confirmed/ I would trust the 4 day number more, currently
