What's the need to wash Froome's image or to impose him as the new savior?
I mean sport stars are representing a country or team, and people not necessarily swap their icons once they are beaten (some neutral viewers can even take side with the weaker)
A top sportsman/woman can struggle to win or do it with a huge advantage, but it doesn't mean everyone is going to love them.
A leader can have funny quotes or can be serious, and it doesn't mean I like him/her, and some people can be really sensitive on how the stars react to wins and losses.
And in cycling this generation has to deal with a shadow coming from the last two decades.
Having said that, I prefer his racing style over Wiggins, on the other hand there are somethings about Sky and Froome's story that I don't like too much.
