that is true. purito and hesjedal could and will probably fail 1 day and then henao could even win this as he is stronger than scarponi and basso from what I've seen and the altitude won't hurt him for sure

he is very good. look at him in utah for instance when acevedo was in the attack and rode very strong downhil and brajkovic behind who constantly dropped leipheimer but henao could follow with ease and brajkovic is a really good downhiller. he used to be quite bad but in his last 2 years with antioquia he improved a lot. he really surprised me

Uhm, you can disagree with Ryo about a lot of things, and you would be right.
But not this

These Colombians are used to much longer climbs than this, also fighting for GC and stagewins. Stelvio is a laughable climb compared to what you get in Colombia, they have climbs of 40km to 3500m altitude lol

Yeah, but Mortirolo just before stelvio is going to make it different.

So you're saying downhills in Utah are same as Dolomites's ones?
Anyway till now he didnt show many troubles as far as I could see.

Team Sky directeur sportif Nicolas Portal is the link between the Colombians and the English speaking part of the team as he speaks fluent Spanish after his four seasons riding for Caisse d'Epargne (2006-2009). "Sergio impressed me at the Vuelta al Pais Vasco when he attacked on the big ring up to Ibardin, where only Samuel Sanchez and Rodriguez passed him," the Frenchman told Cyclingnews. "Here at the Giro, we got him to gain confidence by getting involved in the early minutes of the lead-out for Mark Cavendish."

"Sergio keeps his feet on the ground and he's well looked after by Rigoberto who's got experience in three-week races even though he's still young," Portal said. Uran, 25, wore the white jersey but eventually lost it to Pierre Rolland at last year's Tour de France. He remains eligible for the U26 category despite being in his seventh season as a pro in Europe. He turned pro with Italian team Tenax in 2006, moved to Unibet the following year and spent three seasons at Caisse d'Epargne (2008-2010) before joining Team Sky. Henao came directly to Sky from the Continental team Gobernacion de Antiquoia at the end of last year.

"For now, my goal is to ride at the front," Henao told Cyclingnews. "I want to finish in the top five of the Giro. If I keep going well in the mountains, I can keep up with the best climbers. The most explosive of them is Purito. He's got a lot of power in the climbs. Soon we'll know who is the strongest in this race.

How can I put this.... he's not a new poster. Obvious sockpuppet.

I know the poster has been identified as a sockkpuppet.

there is no way one can intepret that from this post on its own, which the "who are you" suggests was the only one froome had read.

I had replied to him a couple of times within a few minutes concerning different points and it was becoming increasingly apparent that he was a sockpuppet.
So yes I didnt look at that post only as you rightly said
In fact after I posted the post I saw that he was in fact banned.

Wait, Cavendish was working for him today? When was this?

They must really have come to the conclusion that he's a proper contender.

He was at the front of the line bringing Uran and Henao up to the front before the final ramp. That said he was only on the front for a few hundred metres, a token pull.

Thats good there is confidence in him. If he goes badly and loses the best young riders jersey it will still go to Uran ( in the team ). I think Sky will have good cards to play here.

I would love if he proved me wrong but i do not think he can crack the top 5.

Scarponi and Basso will probably finish on the podium just a question of where. The other 3 main contenders ( JROD, Hesjedal and Kreuziger ) could all also win ( except for maybe Roman ). Therefore i do not think he will crack the top 5.

I also think Intxausti could finish higher than him.

I voted 11-20 in the poll, but frankly now I'm thinking that was too conservative on my part. Henao always had the potential, but he also has the form here and now, which coupled with the low level most everybody else is showing means I can't put him below anybody else, except for Basso and Scarponi who automatically get top favourite status due to their palmares, and Purito, who's the one who has shown better form so far and whose actual climbing skills are underrated.

I still think a top 10-15 would have been reasonably good for Henao under normal circumstances, but seeing the level of this Giro I'm going to throw caution to the wind and say he should ride for the win. So far he's been very conservative, but this being his GT debut and him not being a priori a favourite it's understandable.

He can ride for the win, but then he have to attack somewhere. In TT I think he will be worse than Basso or Scarponi, so from now until the TT he need to beat them with a minute at least.

i would be happy (i'm colombian) if he is able to be with the main contenders during the next three tappones regardless his final position. of course if he has a chance he should not waste this opportunity. just remember how indurain lost his sixth tour in 1990 and how cunego won his only giro because he didn't respect simoni leadership

I wonder what they banned it for - I though the graphs were hilarious, and quite clearly deliberate.

they didn't monitor him since 2009. they got to him thanks to uran. 2010 that was

You do realise noticing someone and being able to attract them are 2 different things right?

*Trying desperately not to let Ryo ruin Henao for me*
