Really, I'm overwhelmed

If only you knew...Mrs John Murphy said:CN gets a lot of free labour, the volunteer mods get a lot of crap for having to toe the party line.

Except not one time in X years has anyone on staff told me to change my style of moderation. I have a very laisse faire style that some may wish I would be more active with, but any time I "toed the party line" so to speak, was by my own volition, based on common sense.
Mrs John Murphy said:That's my point. You can have 10 mods with a laissez-faire attitude but if you have one moronic, triggerhappy knuckledragger firing off bans etc like they were going out of fashion then it undoes all the laissez-faire work.
High visability 'look at me' power modding is the 'public face' of modding - as that is what most people see when they read threads and 'oh look mod x has been in deleting stuff again, oh look mod x is coming with the threats again, oh look mod x has been on a ban spree', the low-key stuff which is the better modding isn't seen by most people.
The fact that volunteer mods who have toed/enforced the party line, more heavily than yourself have received flak for their efforts. Which either means the party line is flawed, or the mods were flawed, or both.

That's a pretty angry post. I'm genuinely sorry you see the Moderation of this forum in this way. I've stated elsewhere, I'm a new mod on here and I would like once again to state NOBODY or ANYONE from CN questioned my opinion on anything cycling related when I was (by non CN staff) suggested as a Mod.

There's also a few stipulations which must be met, don't worry they don't include forking over FM stocks or anything like that but there are stipulations to be met, most for the betterment of society well the forum.

I see I have been excoriated for not saying how much influence new mods would have. The same as old mods, of course.

I resubmit my original application upthread to become a mod. If it helps, I seriously volunteer my services.
Also, one of my supporters has pm'd me to help with this new request for seriousness. Thanks.
