Let's wait until we know what the exact injury is. If it's indeed a broken leg, as is rumored now, then he'll not be back in time, if ever.

Contador also broke his leg in '14...

Okay, I guess it's too much to expect as much from Valverde as from Contador.

Always disappointing to see a favourite crash like that. I guess he only has himself to blame, but still, such a disappointing way to end the race.

Seems a bit shallow to say so, but if he comes back super strong for the Vuelta and Lombardia it could even end up being a blessing in disguise.

Pretty distasteful after such a crash. I know you are out to get a reaction from me and probably DFA in particular, I expect to 'pay back' for his at times harsh words on Contador, but this is over the line IMO. Really not showing class here, mate.

Anyways, I have spent the last month jinxing him, so I take it all on my shoulders. I genuinely believed he could win this race or at least top-3. Well, he can't now, but he can fortunately win the Vuelta and Movistar will be loaded with a fresh Moreno, Fernandez, Soler and Valverde. So I guess we wait for this bike race to end now...

Concussion in his legs and bum? Probably a bit of disorientation straight after he went down, but really he just looked like someone in a lot of pain.

Again, probably a bit over the line. It doesn't look good when one genuinely seems happy when another rider crashes.
