I had to google Marchand because I've been taking a twenty-year vacation from hockey, he doesn't sound very nice.As a player, Matt Tkachuk is what would happen if you crossbreed his dad with Brad Marchand.

Yeah, the Flames got extinguished pretty quickly. Again, hard to believe, considering how strong and dominant they used to be during the regular season. And unlike the Panthers, the Flames appeared like a team capable of doing well in the playoffs - and yet, it's the Oilers, who themselves for the past few years were seen as a team not suited to playoffs, who prevailed. And despite what seemed like inferior goaltending.Wait, the Oilers/Calgary series is over already?
I didn't catch last night's game, I thought there would at least be one more over the weekend. I didn't think the Oilers would wrap it up so quickly, but on to the next round they roll.
Wooooooo Oilers!
watched the last @25 minutes of the game..couldn't take my eyes off it..commentator mentioned that some players are 6.3 and 220 pounds, glad of the reminder as I watch them skate 40mph and crash into the boards, ice and each other..truly amazing!!I live in Denver & things are crazy here. Left for the gym tonight for my regular evening workout & hardly anyone was on the roads (look like back during the 2020 lockdown)
At the gym, many members were watching the game instead of working out - every ceiling & wall TV monitor had the game on (14 total). I found myself drifting off a few times watching the game. Lol. I also lived here when the Avs won the Cup back in 2001. That was the team with superstars Joe Sakic & Patrick Roy.
This city will go nutso if the Avs win the Cup again.
Regarding Sakic being an Avs exec for a long time now it just goes to show you miss out on a lot when you take a break from following a sport for 20 years! (Apparently my math skills have also been on hiatus, the only way the Avs could win in 5 is if they win game 4. So they have to win the next game in Tampa and then game 5 in Denver... I think I'm probably asking for a miracle here. I stand by my stupidity though and I'll stick with the Avs in 5.)I was shocked the Avs lost - and lost that bad in game #3. I figured the Avs would sweep bringing home the Cup (see how little I know about hockey. Lol). What I do know is Kuemper had a bad game stopping only 17 out of 22 shots with Bednar benching him after giving up that 5th goal in favor of veteran Francouz, who has a 6-0 record in Avs playoff games. I think Wednesday's game 4 will be pivotal - if the Avs win I think they take it all in game 5 at home. If they lose, then it's best out of 3 and probably a game 7 (wouldn't that be a ratings gold mine for ABC/ESPN).
Speaking of Joe Sakic, he's been Executive VP/GM of hockey operations since 2013. He has the final say on all matters regarding player personal. It's also weird hearing Sean McDonough announcing hockey - I associate that voice with ESPN college football & MNF.
Again, another ghost town last night during the game. As I said before, this city will literally go crazy if they win the Cup.
Denver Went Bonkers the First Time the Avs Won the Stanley Cup
The city is four wins away from more revelry.www.westword.com
I watched the 3rd period & the OT - the Bolts gave everything they had in OT coming up so short. I think it's over for the Bolts. Like I said, game 4 was pivotal for them. They win & we got a brand new best of 3 series with the momentum shifted to the Bolts. They lose & they have the monumental task of having to win 3 in a row with 2 of those at Ball arena - not exactly favorable odds. Should be absolutely crazy here in the Mile High City for tomorrow's Friday evening game.Another OT... I didn't catch last night's game but judging by the score it looks like my dream of the Avs winning in 5 is still alive. Apparently it's just a question of how quickly the Avs want to wrap this up, the Bolts just haven't been able to gain momentum even when playing at home. So the Avs winning game 5 at home would not only drive the Denver crowd into eternal bliss, it would also put the Bolts out of their misery.
For everyone's sake go, go Avs!
I'll just go the safe route now and go with the Avs in 7. Winning three games in a row is quite the task, not sure the Bolts are up for it. Hopefully the Avs can wrap it up in Tampa tonight, we'll seeUgh is right. And you can see how little I know about hockey as I predicted the Avs had this one signed, sealed & delivered with what I thought to be an easy victory here in Ball Arena. Lol.
So, it's back to Tampa for a game 6 on Sunday night. Who'll win? I have no you know what idea. Will the Avs pull it out on the road or will the Bolts get a another victory forcing a NHL dream game 7 in the Mile High City on Tuesday?
