Certainly did not expect Bettiol to be flying but if I remember it correctly he had a similar outlier performance a couple of years ago and won a short TT in the Etoile de Besseges. He actually gave Lefevre a call after he got all mad on the newspapers and told him that it was just in the heat of the moment. Apparently Lefevre didn't say anything back and just that he had earned the win.

Bettiol always comes out of breaks like a mad man, true. But Jayco hold all the cards right now me thinks. Yates can go all in, with Bling riding the wheels. Menglers Hill isn't hard enough to drop Ewan, but with the uphill finish in Tanunda it could be an opportunity already to gain some precious boni.

yes, whoever is unable to finish a prologue, gets the time of the last ranked rider.
So if everyone riding in the rain decided not to finish, most would be even better off
