Just watched the sprint, Bora made it look easy, very well done. Ewan not as fast as he used to be, he was positioned perfectly too.
Are you 100% sure?Mohoric back in the days even dared to join the breakaway move with Lance Armstrong.
Yeah, must have been TDU of 2011. I remember it as if it was yesterday. Five man break, with Lance, Mohoric (for Liquigas?) and three others… Lance‘s farewell race. Are you 100% sure?
Ewan has been unwell, and isn't 100 percent at the moment. It was a reasonable sprint from him under the circumstancesJust watched the sprint, Bora made it look easy, very well done. Ewan not as fast as he used to be, he was positioned perfectly too.
I'd say it was another guy as Mohoric was a first year junior when TDU 2011 was raced...Yeah, must have been TDU of 2011. I remember it as if it was yesterday. Five man break, with Lance, Mohoric (for Liquigas?) and three others… Lance‘s farewell race.
I hope I‘m 100% correct?!?…
Edit: or was it 2010, and Sagan the man from Liquigas? I however think it was Mohoric… Just from memory, without checking data online…![]()

We need more German disco bodybuilding in procycling. Most are too small, they don't have nice capped and round bulbous deltoids like welsford. And he is the world number 1 so far in 2024Welsford finally…Great to see him win.
He‘s the new Graeme Brown (Rabobank)…
Sam Welsford is an old school sprinter… Probably hanging around in the gym, with the disco bodybuilding guys, at the biceps machine, every day, and enjoying Burger King afterwards. Made him build massive, blocky, plumper quads, with lots of water, enabling him to perform >1700 watts in the flat sprints. Old school, a la Graeme Brown.
I was a fan of him, already in his DSM days, as you remember. His powerful upper body is one of the best in WT cycling.

I hate the traditional head-on shots. Why won't they stick to the heli shots during live broadcasts and especially for highlights? Grmay looks like he had some good speed but really have no way to tellBora's leadout served that up on a platter.

A couple of months at Jayco is apparently enough time to graduate from the Simon Yates School of pre-race conferences!!!Read Plapp's comments, lad you have to be winning a few races first, taking some major scalps before coming out with that sort of stuff, only setting yourself up for failure there.
Reminded me of some of the mess Warne and Punter used to come out with before an ashes series, only they were legit steamrollering everyone at that point in time.

Grmay appeared to ride an extra 20 meters the way he tried to use both sides of the road. He's fast, but that wasn't the best sprint.I hate the traditional head-on shots. Grmay indeed looking the fastest, somewhat surprisingly. Ewan acting like a sweeper. Bora a bit lucky in that sense.
Depends on the angle? You could take a shot that’s not from right above but shows the finish line too.Because 1) it's against tradition, 2) it devoids the sprint from all drama and 3) you can't see any other riders than the first four or five from the heli. The latter can be especially frustrating if you keep a particular eye on a specific rider you favour. Then it will take for ever to get a sense of where that rider finished.

So that would require two helis which is a luxury most races don't have (and don't need).
Yeah, true. That could be a good solution.
Or two camera's with different lenses? 😅 Might be a bit cheaperOkay, but it's good to have the heli view to study after the sprint as is the case now. So that would require two helis which is a luxury most races don't have (and don't need).
