Pretty smart riding by Chaves... still think Gerrans will win (somehow). McCarthy must have supreme confidence.

Damn, great final! Not expected.
Good teamwork from Bora, well deserved win.

Yeah, I thought they’d made a mistake using Oss up completely when Gerrans and Impey were still there. But if they hadn’t done so, the peloton would have won. It was really very well judged tactically.

Perhaps Devenyns should have dropped back near the end and pulled in the bunch, but it is very difficult to judge.

Yep, didn't want to say it, can understand why he rode his own race with that uncertainty.

Nice win by McCarthy. Viviani wins if he got back a few seconds earlier. Gerrans has lost that top end speed now but a good ride.Oss has to be one of the best domestiques going around. BMC were stupid not to do more to keep him. Pay the man.

Interesting that Viviani finished 2nd and yet on the Stirling stage win in the TDU by Ewan he finished 6th - Would have been interesting to see how Ewan would have gone if he rode the race.

It was a good ride by Lambrecht to finish in the lead group in his first WT race - He's a promising rider.

Ewan is a better uphill sprinter but Viviani can survive harder climbs.

I think Viviani has a great chance in MSR this year unless Sagan decides to give it a go on Poggio again.

I think you're right about Viviani's chances in MSR. He's one of my favorites for that race. QuickStep has a great team for the race: Viviani, Gaviria and Alaphilippe could all win.
