If I had time I’d start a new thread for the 2025 Tour Down Under. But I don’t. I guess I can put up with “hot racing coming up in Australia ” for another year 🥸

Liv Alula Jayco team for the Women's TDU is Roseman-Gannon, Talbot, Pate, Baker, Smulders and Wylie. They have a chance to win a stage with Baker and outside chance for GC with Wylie or Smulders. They should have brough Garcia who is well suited to Willunga Hill.
Jayco Alula team for the TDU is Plapp, Hepburn, Durbridge, Schmid, O'Brien, Stewart and Harper. Plapp and Schmid for the GC, while Stewart will need luck inn the sprints. One thing Jayco should not do is try to control every stage.
Guess that makes sense if he is already in racing shape from CX. Not that I know if he has ridden any CX this winter.
I picked him in our CX game, which obviously meant he wasn't going to ride any races.
He hasn't, and likely never will ever again. Just road and XCO.

I like Bauhaus also, a rider that often gets in the mix is Alberto Bettiol pure sprinter absolutely not, but just a guess..
Just for the record, it's Lund.
(His last name is spelled Andresen, but he's referred to as Lund.)
Coqard, Strong, Stewart and Aaron Gate ahead of Bettiol I'd expect to mix in the sprint stages.

Don't think it's that different from recent years, it's just too awkward to race in Australia in January for even the heavily-inflated amount of UCI points to entice the big guns.
It does make for a great opportunity for Matthew Brennan to become the race's youngest-ever stage winner.
The TDU has been very well supported by teams (including “big guns”) since its inception.
The only awkward thing is it is held on the other side of the world. But as the first major race of the new year and not in the middle of the new season it is optimally scheduled to provide recovery from jet lag and as an opportunity for teams and riders to blow away the winter cobwebs and help build base (and heat resilience) for the coming European summer. And of course, cycling has limited long term growth prospects if it limits pro racing to Europe.
I live in Sydney where there is an annual pilgrimage of Sydney riders to South Australia for this race. It’s in our holiday season so an ideal time to take some annual leave and do some solid miles in hot weather while following the race live - it’s close to 24 hours travel to Europe for us.
The TDU has been great for Australian racing and largely harmless to the European schedule. A win/win.
Worth mentioning Jan Ullrich here. Der Kaiser helped Bjarne Riis win the Commonwealth Classic in 1994, aged 19. Then Jan won the Tour de France in 1997.

Do the riders who are listed as reserves travel to Australia as well?
I guess they have to; the point of reserves being to have someone to quickly take a spot on the roster, and some of them might be doing CEGORR anyway.

Yeah, they would be. I'd guess a few of the neo pros will miss one or the other.
