At a former company I had a manager based in Singapore. When she visited she had a list of expensive bin labeled Penfolds red to buy for her husband’s collection. So it must be good.
Yeah it is, especially the pricier Shiraz and Shiraz blends. It's generally an easy bet to go for a Barossa Valley Shiraz.

While it's a soft route, they are riding along the riverfront at pretty much sea level until like 2k to go and the finish is at about 60 metres, that's not a flat course. Reminds me a bit of the Richmond Worlds, it's just missing its 23rd Street in exchange for a slightly shorter lap.
Expect a headwind along the river, especially towards the end of the race. A decent classics rider should win this, if Matthews bothered to turn up for once he'd win it standing on his head.

He rode in 2023, was the strongest in the race, but got beaten by tactics.

Wonder what moment this season poor old Luke Plapp will choose to look in top condition, like he's really about to make a breakthrough, before the camera pans to him looking like he's losing pints of blood on the roadside.

He is #1 on the UCI rankings, only one worldwide pandemic and abruptly cancelled cycling season away from history.

I fail to see why you are being unkind to Plapp. He showed some good signs in 2024, especially in two Giro stages and he can win a race or two in Europe this year.

I'm afraid the UCI rankings are done on a 12 month rolling basis, not Jan-Dec (nor even Nov-Oct per their strange calendar), so he isn't.

Less unkindness more a reflection of how he often seems to crash or get ill at the most inopportune moments (TDU, Olympics last year)

Yeah but if they cancelled the season there wouldn't be any races until next year, he's 1 on PCS anyway, the more prestigious metric.

They are stolen from bottle shops here in Australia to the point they are locked behind glass now in some areas
Do the thieves steal it for personal consumption, reselling it elsewhere, or collecting?

If it's a collectible item and is expensive I can kinda understand it being under lock and key. In my area though power tools, batteries, and even men's underwear have been under lock and key ever since Covid. Weird that women's underwear has not been under lock and key, do men generally get the itch to steal some underwear?
