That was bizarre to watch from Red Bull. They rode so well in TDU and then they did this here...

White Boy like me can barely go outside in 40, was feeling bad just watching that. 3 degrees that's my kind of temperature, bit of rain, Fleche last year.

Lewis Askey the man from just near Stoke, famous for it's windy Tuesday nights should get a combatif prize.

Specifically Tuesday nights.
Not Mondays or Wednesdays.
Certainly not Sundays or Thursdays.
Fridays or Saturdays are just completely out of the picture.

Well, @Armchair Cyclist. I suppose this thread can be un-stickied now. Then it can return to its resting place, waiting to be awokened next year.
Or late this year.

AusCycling has announced their national teams for the WT races:

TDU: Howson, Harper, Walsh, Eddy, Bleddyn, Greenwood, Stevenson
CEGORR: Harper, Walsh, Eddy, Bleddyn, Greenwood, Browning, Stevenson

While the wildcards haven't been announced yet, this also confirms that Q36.5 won't be there.

TDU startlist shaping up nicely. The full Aussie GC contingent and Buitrago, an early-season monster to rival Wellens and Lutsenko, has just been confirmed.

Buitrago only lost 9s to Milan in the Deutschland Tour last year (over 2.9k - here it's 3.6k). I think he should be okay, especially if it's on road bikes again

It's a hillier course than last year so he should be fine. A.Yates will be at the race at what is shaping to be a good field. And the world champion Vallieres will be at the women's race. I can't wait to be on the ground.

I'll never be the biggest fan of TDU, but it's hard to ignore the fact that the race is more prestigious and attractive now than in the years of endless Porte-Impey tussles.
Interested as to why you're not a fan when it's just a fun winter training race to kick off the season (climate issues?), but anyway I think you're showing disrespect to double monument winner Simon gerrens and tdf podium/ double Paris nice winner Ritchie porte. The race surely can't be more prestigious now it's just congested by UAE domestics getting their one slither of leadership for the season.?

I could be wrong but it seemed more prestigious pre-covid to me

I can't speak for Devil's Elbow, but I think my lack of enthusiasm might derive from being unduly influenced by Jancouver during my early years on the forum ;)
