Mh Tony can do this.

I think he could break it easily if he spent a year training specifically for it, like Wiggins has done. But he won't, at least not at this stage in his career. Same with Cancellara.

Extremely impressive yet slightly disappointing at the same time. Can't see Martin or Cance going for it tbh so this will probably stand for some time.

Crikey! Who's gunna beat THAT?

Martin definitely can, not that impressive.

In these conditions I think it is pretty impressive, hope he tries again at altitude next year and smashes it again.

Agreed. It's an impressive ride, but you get the feeling he really wanted to beat Rominger. I think there are probably a dozen riders out there who could seriously challenge that in the right conditions; especially if they looked to do it at altitude.

Congrats to Wiggins, extremely demanding effort! Pity he couldnt hold it for last laps, still a great distance.

It would be really hard to beat, but yeah, altitude definetely helps. I think Wiggins will go for it once more in better conditions. He can break 55km or even 55.5. Proved it today

He didn't give his all IMO. He was walking fine right after doing it. Doubt it made the same impression on him as it did on some of the others who have done it. I think he will do an attempt at altitude as others are saying.
