Thank you for helping name the country I will start when I come out of the bunker and face the hell of starving people and the chaos of streets with no lights being over run by hipsters on fixies running through intersections. I will shoot on sight anyone not wearing a tin foil hat and there will be free cheese for the people I like and I will revive the world economy one piece of mold at a time.

CN have just reported that moves to have a Tour of Greece be granted GT status are unlikely to be successful in the foreseeable future...

Gee Whiz fellas, didn't mean to spoil the party of the "deniers" here but let the Truth be told, we're in for some REAL hard; financial, social and environmental times. I know that's difficult for those of you who get all twisted up hearing that their picture postcard worlds are about to come to an abrupt halt, but hey, I didn't do it to you!

Debt seems to be a major dis-ease running around these parts and if one isn't careful, one's liable to easily get sucked into the trap. I haven't been in debt for over 20 years. I learned fast that being in debt means I owe somebody something and I don't like that feeling hanging over me, day in and day out. I'm sure many of the intelligent readers who post on this forum (or just come to read Bobby's OP's) would agree and have avoided that trap also. And I commend them. However, and unfortunately, those "many" are a minority in America. Yes, 3 out of every 4 Americans (those same Americans who visit this forum) are up to their eyeballs in the world of DEBT, living paycheck to paycheck (for those fortunate enough to be working) and still going deeper into the abyss. It's a sad commentary on how the masses have been controlled and manipulated by the greedy few. But enough of that. We all know all about that anyway, even if we don't want to admit or talk about it.

Yes, DENIAL continues to pave the way (just look at those who attack even the factual posts from this humbled messenger) and they scream and pout and whine and blame, cursing yours truly, because deep down they are scared. Big Time Scared! And the attackers hide behind the illusion that they have their acts together (even though they can't control the impulse to post, post, post here), but we know, WE KNOW, we can tell, their posts are filled with pain and frustration. Why, Because They are drowning in debt. It's written all through their sarcasm. But they should not feel alone. Why? Because this personal Debt Crisis, so intimate to their own frazzled nervous system, is a reflection of that same debt crisis that we see everywhere on a global scale. It's an epidemic. It's an epidemic caused by greedy people. By people who don't want to take responsibility for doing what they do. Buying what they don't need, only that which satisfies that yearning for accumulating more and more of nothing. And DENIAL plays a major part in their disorder.

Anyway, here's more proof the tsunami is about to sweep the globe. All I can say is, for those who think their debt bills will magically disappear when it all comes down, then they don't realize that every penny will be accounted for by those corrupt institutions that make it their business to control and manipulate the "slaves" of America. Ever remember hearing about "Debtors Prison"? How about working the rest of one's life for "the Man?"

Sorry, got off subject matter just a little bit, sooooo many distractions around here. Anyway, I truly hope we will see bike racing on the regional/local level continue. It has sputtered here and there in my area, but all and all, this region is presently staying afloat. THe Big Tours have had the Big Money behind them in the past and I don't see the Big 3 having the air let out of their tires anytime soon. But who knows? Strikers stopping the race is another story. The bike shop down the street had the best winter they ever had. According to the owner it seems that people want to ride a bike because of car payments, gas and insurance prices taking their toll. Not sure if that is just his store or something being experienced nationally. But as I said in an earlier post, I believe bike "service" will prosper, whereas, bike "products" might take a hit for logistical reasons from time to time. Note: Manufacturing of bike parts to sell locally might not be a bad business, and of course, recycling bike parts, another.

Anyway, as the Euro goes, so does the Dollar.

4 minutes! It took you just 4 minutes to post! That's incredible

BigDeal! Were you just sitting there with that blank look on your face, going deeper into debt, watching the clock go tick, tick, tick, waiting for your hero, yours truly, to post ? How long you hunting on the net to get that cool picture? Few hours? I thought you'd be drooling over your keyboard waiting for the latest on Mr. Landis. You must of wet your pants today on that news.

I have one question for you. How much you owe...debt? I'd guess more than you even know. I'd say "$35,000" not to mention the home payments, if your not in your parents basement.

Many things go away during a depression. One of them is NOT entertainment. LBS may get a hurt but like Boxing, it flourished during the depression. I think sport will always be with us in the big leagues.
