Why ? Barguil was 9th in San Sebastián and Québec. He deserves a (co-)leadership role.

Was Lombardia easier or harder than Nibali's biggest one day race wins, the Trofeo Melinda and the GP Mig?

Yeah, let's totally ignore Lombardia 2010-11, Liège 2012, Sanremo 2012, Firenze...

Even if he didn't win any of them, I still rate it at least as high as what Purito has done.

This isn't horseshoes! How can a few almost wins (and no actual victories in the classics) be rated "at least as high" as multiple classic victories? That belief is just ludicrous!

Multiple is 2... Twice on a lame parcours. Nibali has shown a much wider variety of skills.

Boonen won more monuments and classics than Cancellara, yet Cancellara is for me the better classics rider. But feel free to disagree and this discussion is pretty old btw.

It's actually 3 (2 Lombardi's and 1 Fleche Wallone).

Feel free to ignore my tardy responses to old topics if its a problem. I won't take offense.

He has experience and he is more rest and focused than other favourites, but he is a little old for that. This race has big level. With 30 years old, the current experience and the same rest he could win this race now very easy, but the years, although very slowly, take importance. Anyway I think he will be top ten.

Probably a wise decision to skip Turin after Worlds and a rough season for both Rodriguez and Valverde.

Shame on you SeriousSam. I thought you were one of the good guys . The first two will be in the mix for sure, Porte I'm not so certain. Nibali needs the win to finish a lackluster/disappointing season on a good note, he'll be in the mix too. A Frenchman in the top-5 or better would be good too .

Rebellin is already the oldest rider to win a .1 race at least in the last ten years and probably longer. In fact, I only know of four older riders to have won at a .2 race in the last ten years.

Watching a guy who doesn't even care about the classics winning a one is like having your cycling heart being penetrated by a sting ray.

Porte (I actually like him!) has never been good after the Tour de France, I dont think he ll be a factor, hope I am wrong, though I rather see a rider like Martin or Wellens win!

He's more than likely riding for Henao or Poels.
