How will QS team drop jumbo or uae team?

Isn’t that basically why Remco needs out of QS?
I think if Alaphilippe, Masnada and Van Wilder goes basically max on Crocetta they can basically drop everyone non-leader except Yates and maybe a few more. If you then place an attack it might be tempting for UAE/Jumbo to just wait for the doms that are 10-20 seconds behind and that could be enough.

I’m not thinking of a scenario where QS is pacing and dropping all doms while the QS guys are still there in numbers.

UAE will want to control the race until Ganda climb. Then Pogacar will take off and the only question is if anyone will be able to go with him (and who? Roglic is most likely IMO). A descent and a flat section afterwards means that a small group of strong guys can recover and close the gap. There could be some action on the flat part as well i.e. Carapaz or Remco can attack there if they want to avoid the final sprint, where Pog will be the favourite.

Pogacar *****
Roglic, Evenepoel ****
Carapaz, Mas, Vlasov ***
a few other guys **

Because Pogacar is not a word and not known in your dictionary.

To its credit, autocorrect on my phone now recognises Pogačar as a word. There was a bit of a learning curve: do you mean "pig in a car" or "pog a cat"?

ETA: Oh right, Il Lombardia. Voted for the someone else option (Mas), but the heart begins to want another Pogačar win to close out this season.

So who will ride for Roglic? Will Roglic get help from two teams - JV and Bora? Or he will be the lone rider?

Pogacar needs to drop specially roglic, because if he can't do that, roglic will do what he does best.....wheelsucking the most possible can, and in the end, he will win in the sprint.

Think it's the other way round, Roglic is an excellent uphill sprinter but he loses on the flat against Pogacar, he was beaten by Yates last time too. Hopefully he tries to attack this time around.

And a super motivated Evenepoel and happy teammates of Soudal-Quickstep, now we known there is no merger or superteam to come.
They should have waited a little longer to communicate the news since they were winning every race!!!

Fausto leaked the quickstep team for Lombardia. Looks like:

-Remco Evnepoel
-Julian Alaphilippe
-Andrea Bagioli
-Mattia Cattaneo
-Fausto Masnada
-Ilan Van Welder
-Mauri Vansevnent

What a great team of champions.
After all the anxiety and uncertainty they’ve been under the past few weeks I would enjoy seeing a Soudal-Quickstep rider win just to see their team celebrating at the finish.
