Just realised again that after tomorrow the cycling season is as good as over. Will have to start preparing my hibernation.

Common, there is the Tour of Guangxi, an exciting WorldTour race that only riders and locals can experience since it's not broadcast on TV.

And the Tour of Hainan and Tour of Fuzhou. A rich month of cycling (for Mareczko) is awaiting us.

This picture would be quite a lot more epic if Ghisallo wasn't completely insignificant. It's cool nonetheless.

Well, in recent times there was a rider who attacked alone on the Ghisallo, 50 km to go. Never made it but cool nonetheless.

Recked Gilbert so badly he didn't get back into form until almost a year later. Squalo took one for the team there

Yeah, I'm overly excited, and since it's less than a week…
However, I'm also technically stupid, so I have no clue how to find the profiles and stuff… If anyone posts anything I'll copy-paste it into this post. :D

Didn't realise till couple of minutes ago you're in such a mood, RhD.
Why don't you get in the tune, as well?

I'm split between watching the race and riding.
Will do my best to do the ride before the coverage, but with my habits nothing's certain.
Love this race for many reasons. Rich field every season.

Wait, there’s no TV coverage at all?

The sprint field is actually pretty good. Jakobsen, Ackermann, Demare, Halvorsen, Bauhaus etc. The stage finishes would be worth seeing even if none of the rest of it is.

It would be a different race without the Ghisallo and the Sormano. I hope there will be a high pace to reduce the group to ca. 20 riders, leading to a spectacular final where the strongest climber/descender wins.

It will be very hard for Pinot to reach the line solo regardless of the fact that he looks the strongest climber at the moment, it's impossible to have more than 10-15 sec. on top of Civiglio and Tibo is not a daredevil descender. His chance is if the chasers will take some time to figure out if they will bring Valverde to the line or not.
I don't see a solo win, unless we have a vintage Nibali. Only he can do it. The problem for the contenders that helps Valverde is that a in a small bunch group, Valverde is the likely winner...so when someone else attacks, all fear that unless they chase, they will now fight for second, with Valverde the likely winner...Valverde is the favorite, depending how the race unfolds, others' stocks will rise.

I can't wait.

Looking at the Movistar team I see Valverde alone after Sormano.

If there are couple of Bahrain, FDJ and EF guys, maybe he won't need any of his mates. They will chase each other :p

They have been going 54 km/h average, nice.
Nice! The Muro is going to be extra hard then.

Or it drained that bit of energy to make a difference. Sometimes its hard to predict the result of a tough stage.

Yeah, I was thinking about that before I wrote it. Maybe it's not a good thing.
