Really? I don't think it'd be wise to disregard Nordhaug, who was 6th over La Fiesole despite crashing together with Nibali and not using cars to get back ;)
yeah, because the cameras kept on watching him right?

There's also Nordhaug, who seems to handle tough circumstances a little better.

you mean if it rains right? Because Gesink did a top 10 in Lombardia as well.
What's the weather prediction like?

We can do that avatar bet here if you wish to make up for the worlds.

Both have done well here in the past. Martin showed good form during the week.

Sky pulling their usual one rider short trick. (Used when they have no ambitions).

There's a bigger chance that Valverde will do a ride like Nibali did in 2011...

Yeah, rain and cold, but also if it's a hard race all day. Then Bobby G is toast.

Very cold today in Lombardia. Temperature dropping quick.
Haven't seen the sun in the past week.

hard race in nice weather he is definately not toast, in fact, that would be a big advantage.
hard race and cold weather and he is DNF yes

At least it never caught him being paced by cars. Also, Nordhaug and his sports director (Frans Maassen) are saying that he had to close the gap by himself. They're not happy about how Nibali got back...
I don't understand Norwegian :p

Anyway, if he really did it without help and manage to be one of the best then it wasn't such a great effort. Didn't Grivko make it too? (just asking, I'm not sure at all)

I'm not really sure what kind of race suits him anymore. If it's full gas racing all day, I don't think I've seen him do well in like 3 years.

Google translate? ;)

I don't know if Grivko did it without help, probably, but he was a lot further behind on the climbs even though he slipped away for 5th in the end. Anyway, the point was simply that Nordhaug is in pretty good shape. Probably around top 10 in the end...unless he has to do leadout for their sprinter, Gesink :p

Of course it was ridiculous. He closed a minute gap in 5 km, but the cameras didn't see anything. And yeah, if someone like Nordhaug then has to chase by himself it becomes absolutely unfair.

I disagree, he actually did better in the TDF stages where it was full gas racing all day (even if initially in trouble, he comes through later in the race), then at the stages where it was soft pedalling and 1 climb full gas
