The prosecution should never have to sulk away. This is a deep rooted issue in society in general. The law is not a game. A prosecutor is assigned to a case and must find enough evidence to go to trial and then if that happens, must "prove" that someone is guilty. In today's world a prosecutor looks bad if they don't put the "bad" guy behind bars. These law people are getting paid to do a job, not look good. Just like so many other things in our stupid and small minded media driven world, it is more of an image thing. Gutless people can not stand up and say "we found nothing" or "I was wrong".

FWIW, I'm just stating an opinion in regards to TFF's comment in regards to "sulking" away. I am not an Armstrong or Livestrong supporter, just commenting on the state of affairs in our technology increasing but intelligence decreasing society.

Thanks for the legal primer, I can skip Crim Law this week and ride! Cool!

FWIW, I am just stating an opinion in regards to Hmmmmm's comment regarding "I am not an Armstrong or Livestrong supporter". I have to admit that I am a bit forlorn to learn that I was correct, and the GJ didn't find anything and that Jeff will be sulking in a bar. Dang, I guess Lance is continuing to pay his attorneys because he thinks they are swell guys. I too decry this sad state of affairs. If only there were more dispassionate people like you willing to set the record straight.

Last year AP reported the case had hit some "hurdles" and had slowed. Armstrong went on a tweet-a-thon at the reports. He also emailed the article to several journalists telling them he was about to be "vindicated" again.

Alas the reports were incorrect and later came Tyler.

You'll know if the case slows or stops because Armstrong will seize it as innocence and tell the world.

My knowledge says its in full swing. The reason its gone on so long is the level of deception and fraud. What was simply doping in a race far far away has turned into something much bigger.....

I hope you are correct, but I have to admit that I actually do have some doubts that we will ever see anything come from this simply because it has taken so long. But again, I hope you're correct.

Thank you. That makes people confident.

Any news ?

Look, I was neither agreeing or disagreeing with you, so I can do without the sarcasm at this point. I was literally just stating an opinion. Maybe my opinion is right, or maybe it is wrong. But, I believe in what I believe and that my friend, makes me a person of conviction. I do not mind admitting when I am wrong, but at the same time I never claim to know things I do not know.

I should also state that I do have at times a dry sense of humor, so humor and fun are not lost on me. It's all good and I respect the opinions and thoughts of others.

Cheers!

Hey, if I read you wrong, I apologize. I have a hair trigger on my sarcasm gun and sometimes shoot a bit too early.

My original response to this was deleted. I guess because your post is full of relevant content and mine was just a troll? But that isn't your fault.

ANYWAY, yea, I am sure you're right. The investigation continues so they don't have to admit they never had anything in the first place and this was all just smoke and mirrors. Just a figment of someone's imagination.

It's all over actually. They dismissed the GJ and quietly sulked away to a bar where they drank themselves stupid because of all the work they didn't do. Poutty face. :(

At least they will not be alone at the bar drinking their sorrows away.
The bar is packed. Bordry and Walsh and Pound and Kimmage and Greg and so many will be there. Outside Magazine. Watson too - but he is always there lol.

Maybe they are at the Yellow Rose?
Still "investigating" so they can use their corporate cards yikes. And I understand the Yellow Rose gotta lotta nice girls.

It's interesting to note that people with the exact same screen names or ones oddly similar to the people here are saying the exact same things (Armstrong is the most evil person in the world, insulting and personally attacking anyone who does not believe the same things they do and posting the same types of statements that they rip others for) on just about every major cycling forum.

Just an observation from someone who believes Armstrong doped, but knows that I will get attacks and insulted for saying anything that could be considered not falling perfectly in step.

Although this is a Livestrong topic I have not noticed on Armstrong's shortcomings that members from this forum using the same or similar handles carry on the conduct as you describe against him and his followers or carry on that conduct here.

To prove me wrong and claim credibility I suggest you exemplify the posts on other forums and the similarity of the nicks.

PS: I don't expect any action from you.

The funny part is going to see how you dance when there are indictments, etc, etc, etc.

Again, I remind everyone to keep discussion in this topic about Livestrong. For general LA matters and those pertaining to the investigation, please use the other thread. I realise that Livestrong and LA are inseparable, the problem is when there is nothing in the discussion here to distinguish it from the generic LA discussions.

If a full on discussion about LA sans Livestrong returns after this post I will simply close the thread, as it's easier than dishing out warnings. However, if it is clear that only one or a few users are responsible for derailing the thread, they will be warned and I will try and protect the Livestrong discussion.

If you notice a post which does not conform to what I've outline above, please report it and do not respond to that post as you will only be contributing to an off-topic discussion which will inevitably lead to the closure of this thread.

Why? It's not like these posts are in any way serious. Just blather which will change to some alternate form of blather whatever happens.

Just imagine if everyone ignored it.

By "Livestrong legal counsel" do you mean the in house general counsel?

Wonder how many foundations the diminutive size of LAF have the need for an in house general counsel plus the use of voluntary legal interns.

In 2009 when she was employed in the newly created position Livestrong must have been anticipating troubled waters ahead. 2009 was the year that the IRS came a knocking.

Having a Hog type soliloquy here - replying to myself :)

According to this article there would be no need for Outside Magazine to quake in their boots as the legal letter came from within (Livestrong's internal general counsel)

After Gifford’s reporting was underway, Livestrong’s general counsel sent Outside a five-page letter “complaining about “Mr. Gifford’s conduct, professionalism, and method of reporting,” which, Gifford writes, “makes me wonder if I missed something,” since he “found no evidence that Armstrong has done anything illegal in his role as the face of the organization.” And Gifford does assert that “Armstrong has used the goodwill of his foundation to cut business deals that have enriched him personally, an ethically questionable move.”

Since the article was printed Livestrong have sent another 5 page letter complaining about the article. Outside plan to address it and publish it in the March edition.

Brilliant. Is he in yellow plastic handcuffs? :D It looks like he's pointing at the guilty informer.

The most entertaining parts of these recent negative press events are the narcisisstic "Armstrong Camp Reaction" reaction letters. You know, the ones where they pull out their "Get out of Jail Free" Kancer Kards and try to play them (to no avail).

Jack Rabbit stores nationwide have a deal with Outside magazine to display the latest copy at the counter. And there it sits on display for all to see ! :)

Maybe a 5 page letter to them as well? and while they're at it get CBS to make an on-air appology? Its all too funny.

Might even get facts4Lance out of the closet one more time?
