the funny thing is,

what are these tards going to say next year when machado wins the 3 GTS and the classics while cardoso is beating cav and petachi?

they will just say they broke every single unwritten law in sports

contador and valverde.. 2012 movistar i hope.

one is the best stage racer ever, the other is the best allrounder ever. without them next year (maybe), who do we have as great champions besides canc and tom (and machado)?

its going to be sad...

Yes I find myself doing that nearly every time you post.

I didn't expect anything else from you.
So where is your proof ?

It would be easy to make fun of your post just by posting only DL or TdS results. But that would be too cheap....there is a lot more. You just ignore it and do your usual propaganda posts here.
So did you now have a closer look and are you willing to correct your "opinion", or still keep beeing stubborn and beeing nothing more than a joke, dude ?

I can battle you and others easy on that, and I am even bored during doing this. All that hating people like you have is posting in the clinic that Lance is a doper. Well, at least you can profile yourselfes because of that and have a point there. But that ends as soon as you leave the clinic and start talking about that athlet named Armstrong and cycling.

Just for example:
Do you remember Armstrong regularly duelling with the Raboguys in spring on Dutch roads ? That was always exciting. Ask Dutch mafia.
Or Lance winning in Algarve, Murcia, Georgia or other sheitraces in spring ?
Of course, when you only tortured yourself by watching Lance at the Tour in July, then you of course missed that.
Think before you post might be a good advice, but some should open eyes and watch some calendars and palmares (not only meaning wins), before posting.

I wouldn't say that Lance was a full season competitor from spring to fall - but what some of you guys try to sell here in typical ugly and exaggerating style makes absolutely zero sense.

If you guys want to discuss all wins of Armstrong or when he did ride, either make a different thread or take it to the official Armstrong thread

perfect. just perfect.

OIC, so you really expected him to do a hard TOC as prep for the Tour D' France? Sorry, do YOU really watch cycling?

While the TOC may turn into a great race and has a lot of potential; addition of Mt Baldy for starters. Until recently, by comparison to European races has been pretty crappy.

The short - NO! Not breaking an unwritten rule. If it ain't written it ain't a rule.

This thread is funny. Imagine a good soccer/football team letting lesser teams win just for the sake of letting those "lesser" teams win every once in a while. I think sometimes people forget the definition of sport. Lest we forget, it's a competition.

If you win it is not your fault - you should not have to apologize to the others for winning either. "Hey, sorry I did not let you win that one". What an insult! It sucks to lose but then again, not everyone can win.

Not the biggest Contador fan, but if he can win then more power to him. I'd sure take every win I could get. Always!

A hard TOC? LOL.
BTW, it's not the Tour D' France. It's the Tour de France. You only use the apostrophe when the next word starts with a vowel.

No, he is not. It's refreshing to see a guy who cares about winning as much as Contador does. Not just the biggest race, but every course that comes with with a finish line. You don't ask a race horse to pull a cart. And if the race horse lolls around at the back of the pack in races it doesn't care about, you send the old nag to the glue factory.

i guess this unwritten rule in came in after mercx retired...

It is known as the Armstrong Rule. You take 48 weeks of the year off with an allowance to do the mighty Tour of Gila.

Contador is just going back to the way things should be.

Remember how awesome Andy was in the Tour of California last year?

Me neither.

The man finished a 2.HC Pro cycling race while either drunk or hungover. That's pretty awesome as far as I'm concerned.

wow.. mr. dope. i guess you dont know my (and others) opinion about that person.

not only that, today a professional sport called cycling, with professional cyclists, that need to be specialized in order to survive in the bunch, do exists. in those days, just a bunch of amateurs (but tough men) going to point A to point B. there wasnt no sprint..no train..no drafting. just going. the guy with most stamina (and external help like horse steroids anphetamines and every other thing that the BIG DOPER merckx was caught for (always ahead of the others in this field. still, guys like you call him "the best". thats not being racional) will win. and this isnt speculation.. this is a fact. and, as a fact, i can say it anywhere, even in this forum, outside the clinic.

yes. awsome for a kid. this has always been a sport for tough man. no drunk kids. however contador is tough. andy, even if in better shape, cant drop contador in a decisive climb. contador has something that andy (frank's brother, with that kind of father.) does not have.

bravery. heart. ability to suffer. well.. balls.

Actually I was speaking more in general, rather than about this one question. Your posts are always guaranteed to bemuse.
To your point, while nobody won as many Tours as HWSNBN I could point out at least a dozen riders with better and more exciting wins over the course of entire seasons than your boy.

Well Contador might not be the best stage racer ever but Valverde is definitely not the best all rounder, ever heard of Sean Kelly or even Merckx. Won way more races than Vlaverde and more varied as well.

When I read the thread title I thought that some viewed Contador winning as inappropiate in relation to the ongoing investigation but when I actually read the OP I just laughed.

Yeah, Jalabert was great too but loses out because he never competed in the cobbled Classics. In that respect Valverde is more similar to Jalabert than Kelly.

That sounds quiet different than "insult to cycling" or other words and descriptions used earlier.
And this post goes more into the direction that can be accepted, not only by me.
So, post your dozen and then we talk about them and them beeing considered as suitable comparison for this era and circumstances.

I guess all wins are more exciting than Lance's wins - in your world.

Your posts are always guaranteed to make others facepalm because of all that blind hate. Same goes for your clubmate with that other cat-avatar. I wouldn't even notice if you would exchange your avatars.
Posts of the club are as unique as rubber ducks coming from assembly line. :D

I think you need to check out the respective palmares of Contador and Armstrong during his Tour streak if you are going to criticise the truth. Contador has won 2 Paris-Nice, 2 Pais Vasco, 3 Castilla y Leon, 2 Algarve, 1 Murcia and looks like one Cataluyna.

Lance finished well-up in a few Criterium International, won 2 stages in one edition of Algarve, done well at 3 Amstel Gold which is late April and won one edition of Georgia, again in late/mid April. This hardly compares with Contador. He never won a single stage race in Europe during spring from the 'greatest Tour rider ever'

However I agree with you about Ullrich but then Jan usually had other problems to deal with and he was incessantly mocked about his spring form. Ullrich was never in the shape to do anything whilst Lance was in shape but chose not to do anything in spring.
