Never the less, Pozzato would a a nice addition for the Vuelta. He could help Purito as well in the flat and hilly stages. Di Luca has sucked all season anyway. At least Pozzato did something at San Remo.

In a recent interview to Tuttobiciweb he said that he got convinced during the winter to change his usual training plans (adding daily gym sessions, instead of 2 days per week) by the team and this might have affected his performance according to him.
He said he noticed it already at Sanremo althought he was there with the top guys, but just hanging on.

You mean Rodriguez will. If you took him out of the team there would be no chance of them staying up.

I got a gut feeling Il Killer might actually show up for once at the Vuelta.

Regardless, Rodriguez is staying put for next year, he's their best go-to guy for points, so it's obvious they all work for him.

Still, I think it's a sign of bad management when the team (subtract Purito) goes from 637 points in 2009 (no Rodriguez on the team), to 349 in 2010 to 118 so far this year, and that's with Kolobnev's 30 and Pozatto's 50... .OUCH...

No rider needs a win more than this guy to turn his career around. Or at least have other teams interested in offering him a contract. I never thought he would be a good fit at Katusha but for all of their "lets field a purely Russian team in the TDF," where did it get them. Rodriguez is their only bright note and he was not in the TDF. They need new blood in that team. It's silly turning into a national team when they clearly don't have the riders to make it a success. Even Green Edge understand that.

Yeah, no way Rodriguez could need or even want 7/8 mountain domestiques on the squad. Classics riders are ideal helpers for the flat.
