is team sky the worst team tactically in cycling?

I mean today once again they did everything wrong.

For a team with so much attention to detail they seem to screw up tactically much more often than random french teams for example.

Looks like Sky's tactics are a result of Brailsford sitting down and studying Johan's great teams of the past in great detail without actually getting it.

What did they do wrong?

Froome riding like a headless chicken on the front for no reason. Burning the doms with the TTT coming up tomorrow.

I think the level of delusion and bitterness that rears its head on this forum is in direct proportion to the level in which Froome is above his rivals.

Everybody gets their tactics criticized, there have been other threads dedicated to other teams. Do you think you have a point?

Going by your sign up time Sceptic is just doing his best to recruit new members for CN.

The bots are flowing in! Do the British media outlets link to this forum and encourage sign ups?

Do you think that effort actually removed the possibility of Sky winning the TTT?

Might have not. But doesn't change the fact that it was usless in all it's essence.

If Sky's aim was to finish with the same or better time than his GC rivals, then they achieved their aim. Sky did less work in the final few kms than BMC as far as I can remember. I don't get the big drama.

Froome is not levels above his rivals...Contador and Nibali are leagues ahead of him as seen by their GT wins. He's about the same as Quintana tbh.

I would imagine he's referring to the overall standings.

Yes,they are.But this will make things more interesting..stating from tomorrow. As long they burn them self out..the better!

agree. It's not 2012 anymore. Sky seems to be forgetting that they don't have 4 of the 6 strongest riders in the race these days.

Sky have ridden this first week perfectly. A week designed for classics specialists, a week where everyone, on this forum and elsewhere (including me), thought Froome was likely to lose time, with echelons, cobbles and hills, and he's come through it in the lead.

It feels like "Sky are clueless" was supposed to be the story of the week, and therefore it is, regardless of reality.

Today, Froome was just making sure his rivals couldn't come past him, hard to see exactly what he did wrong. He's still in yellow, didn't lose any time to anyone important for the GC, and gained time on Nibali.

um... most of the doms were at the back or let themselves be dropped.

if you hadn't noticed, sky's tactics have been to use only 2-3 doms around froome each day - letting the others rest.

still think they will get their asses handed to them in TTT, but tactically - very smart.
