Whooping 2 seconds slower, paniagua probably. Poor, featherweight Roberto was riding on a 20-kilo bike.

True and then the fans(mostly pogs)are circle jerking over the "achievements" of their "goat". When it's as real as chemtrails or believing that vaccinations are bad. All a big hoax and I can't take people who believe it seriously. I think even Visma is lagging behind in the level of juicing since 2023. Pog is clearly a super responder and was the first the get the best juices(motor), but now that they have complete immunity it has started to spread in the team. Almeida today was ridicilous compared to where his has come climbing wise, good but sort of a diesel who can minimize the losses in a long run. Now his dropping everyone, putting even Vingo to the limit and riding at EPO-Heras level in a climb like Angliru that has not really been his strenght, laughable. I know his rise began last year already and it doesn't make it anymore beliavable. The bad crash in the Tour had no effect either, joining the mutant level.it's literally the same as having Bruyneel and Armstrong running a team today that was winning everything. Gianetti's "past" is equal on so many levels, both as a rider and DS.
Compared to poggie his beliavable, but knowing the level of Jonas in climbs like Angliru (who is for sure doped too) and cause of the team he rides for now im not buying it.I always assumed Almeida was the typical example of "believable" with that slow steady improvement. Long climbs being his forte since 2021 giro.
All his other wins this season were against less good riders. Dropping Jonas he didn't.
Not saying he's clean by far. But he has had the typical old school improvement curve that everyone seems to think is legit?

Almeida's rise is thanks to Sola. Now, UAE have a worldclass coach. I think Del Toro is with Sola too so the only "leader" who didn't improve (Ayuso) is stuck with San Milan.
Doping without proper training (and nutrition) doesn't matter.
Do you know the difference between coaches and doctors?...uh-huh.
same as armstrong when he "switched" from Carmichael to Ferrari.
Carmichael was always just a front to sanitize what was really happening during stays at hotels near Ferrari's home.
Do u think there was really a difference in Armstrong’s case?Do you know the difference between coaches and doctors?
Both of them were faster than 2023:As posted in the PRR race thread, Almeida and Vingegaard rode the climb slower than 2023. I tend to agree Almeida's improvement does not seem crazy. He is always known as a diesel. He rode that climb on the front of Jonas like a diesel - dropping Sepp and Hindley slowly and eventually taking 30 sec.
No kidding. Can I get a reading on Almeida's testosterone levels (for research purposes)?
Why singling out testo? Can I get a reading on Almeida's testosterone levels (for research purposes)?
Why singling out testo?
Okay. I saw the linked post showing the fastest splits on the steepest section of Angliru. That shows Almeida and Vingegaard were 21 seconds slower on the steepest section of the climb than 2023. They were also slower than Heras 25 years ago:
So do you think is Sola who creates the "cocktail"?Do u think there was really a difference in Armstrong’s case?
He never used Carmichael as a coach. Never ever. It was always a front. He used Ferrari who told him how to dope and also -yes- “coached” him. You will find that during that era a lot of personal “coaches” were in fact their doping doctor.
Armstrong famously got Ferrari on the phone when Pantani attacked from really far in 2000 to get his “expertise” on whether Pantani could carry out a raid from that distance. So yes, Ferrari was both Armstrong’s doping doctor AND his coach.
You really need to learn a little more cycling history before writing post after post as if what you are saying is knowledgeable. Everything you say in defense of UAE is a carbon-copy of what all the new (mostly American) cycling fans said for years about Armstrong and USPostal. Most Europeans and knowledgeable fans knew exactly what was going on the minute he attacked on Sestrieres in 1999. In fact, I know someone who was in the Equipe offices that day, and every reporter there watching said he must be doping.
It is in fact only with the arrival of EPO and blood doping that riders suddenly started to have personal doctors who gave them their “training”. Lemond used to even say he couldn’t understand the need to have a personal doctor for cycling. If he was sick he would just go to the race doctor or his personal doctor back home.
Gianetti also did it in the 2007 Giro. When was the last time a team won stages with 4 different riders in a Grand Tour? I know it was brought up for the 2022 and 2012 Tour but they only did it with 3 riders.
My guess is an outside doctor (not on team UAE) is being paid handsomely to "test and refine" riders data with "chemical assistance". Products forwarded by people like "Maestro Baltazar" or the guy Ricco thought he was meeting in that McDonald's car park. San Millán and people in Spain are probably involved somewhere, although there is a lot of contacts back to Pogi's home country Slovenia. So do you think is Sola who creates the "cocktail"?
Another example of changing coaches... why Ayuso didn't develop himself? The improvement of Almeida is comparable to Teddy's jump in 2024, after the shock of Vingo in 22, 23. UAE definitely has access to a novel drug, or genetic treatment or they are using a motor. This cannot be explained otherwise.
Well, if Almeida can come up to Vingo's level it's truly astounding. Next year Pog, Almeida one two at the Tour, just to ad insult to injury.Another example of changing coaches... why Ayuso didn't develop himself?
At this level (experienced, world class athletes), changing coaches and adopting different training techniques could result in improvement. Just not the extent and speed of improvement we've seen in a couple of UAE riders so far. This is why some people think the "new coach" is a smokescreenAnother example of changing coaches... why Ayuso didn't develop himself?
No, Almeida is nothing like the guy fighting for the Giro then falling off, he's become a super climber."He beat X" really doesn't say anything without knowing how good was the one beaten. Jonas himself was faster 2023 behind Roglič than this time. Roglič was faster than both Jonas and Almeida.
So is Almeida really that improved? Or has he just gone to races with lower fields and beat a Jonas on a decline?
Both narratives seems to make sense on the surface.
