You’ve mentioned US Postal as a point of comparison, but two years before Armstrong joined the team, there was already evidence that the team was heading down a doping road. But why can’t anyone come up with something like that about Sky? If that rates a 6.5 on the Richter Scale of suspicions of doping, why can’t anyone come up with even a 5.5 or something that makes you think ‘Wow, did he really say that?’ I mean, did Geert Leinders leave the team and say that he did things at Sky that weren’t ethical? Has he said that?

What the **** am I reading.

To this day, Ferrari has never said he's ever done anything unethical, has he?
I like how he says Barry Ryan brought up US Postal as a point of comparison. Uhm, no David, you did that. Walsh was winning arguments with himself throughout the whole interview.

Too bad Barry Ryan didnt slamdunk the Teixa quote from the mouth of Brailsfraud but he showed David Walsh what a true journalist is about.

And, he reads the clinic.

And, David Walsh, I feel sorry for him. This was the limit. Kuddos for his past but he has really lost perspective. I can rip a whole in every answer in that interview but it isnt worth the time.

Noticed that too. What a buffoon.

Froome must be clean because Porte had a bad day once and they are sharing rooms.

Woah. That's just...I don't even know.

Great news for all Astana fans, this means Kascheskin actually was clean after all, as he shared room with Mads Kaggestad.

Because it's impossible to dope 1) outside your room or 2) prior to the race as EPO lasts for almost 4 weeks.

this is what i figured as well.
indeed he c/should've pressed harder on a couple of issues, but still a good interview.

agreed.
this was a nobrainer months ago, but it's still slightly surprising to see him stoop so low in order to defend sky.
they must be paying him good.

Quick collection of awesome Walsh quotes from the CN interview:

"the people who’ve read the book have been very complimentary and the people who haven’t read the book have been much less complimentary"

"I’m pretty certain that if anyone comes to it with an open mind, then it will contribute a little bit to their understanding of what Team Sky is about"

"I can tell you now that it’s not a possibility because the people who are the pillars of the management, people like Brailsford, Tim Kerrison, Rod Ellingworth, the lead doctor Alan Farrell and the lead carer Mario Pafundi, they’re just not those kind of people."

"If somebody told me now that Rod Ellingworth was actually secretly bringing drugs into the team, I’d say that’s an absolute lie. Why? Because I know the man."

"The common thing about those who are sceptical and don’t believe is that they compare Team Sky with US Postal because of their success, right?"

"I do think it’s possible to find out [if a team is clean] and that’s what journalism should be about."

"We knew at US Postal that Armstrong always wanted a room alone, perhaps for good reason. Chris Froome preferred to share it with his mate Richie Porte."

"Now imagine Chris Froome in a room with Richie Porte – can you imagine Froome was doping and Porte wasn’t?"

"I think your question is an absolutely valid one and the answer is no, I’m not intimately acquainted with how other coaches in other teams operate."

"“That stuff is no good for you. We’re here to eat the right food, and you bringing that to the table is lowering the dietary and nutritional standard.” I just thought that kind of attitude was impressive."

"Of course it doesn’t mean they’re clean, but tell me something that indicates they’re dirty."

"What evidence do you have that they used Gonzalez’s death as a pretext (for hiring Leinders)?"

" I do want to believe"

"So even though I wanted to believe, I don’t think my eyes were closed. I just felt Froome in particular is a really interesting man. I think in terms of his character, he’s a pretty special fellow."

"I don’t want to be providing an explanation because I don’t know. I absolutely don’t know."

"I’ve seen what the exercise physiologist at Barloworld has done and his view is that there is certainly nothing that Froome is doing now that is that different."

"I think it’s not good enough to say to somebody ‘did you dope?’ and that person says ‘no, I didn’t dope’ and you accept their word and that’s it. You feel you don’t need to go any further than that."

"I think Dave Brailsford is trying to make the best of it, get the guys to sign the form so that legally they’re covered but is the team forensically researching the background of all the guys it employs? Clearly not."

"I didn’t go to follow Team Sky as a fan, I went to follow them as a journalist."

"The easiest thing in the world to do is to sit on the fence, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, and let you the reader make up your mind. I don’t believe in that."

And my personal favourite:

"And I thought that’s where we’re at now, with this kind of nonsense being peddled as journalism."

Sky’s zero tolerance – and maybe I should have made a big thing of it, but I didn’t in the book, and maybe that’s a weakness – but I don’t believe in it. I don’t think Sky are right to have it. I think it’s not good enough to say to somebody ‘did you dope?’ and that person says ‘no, I didn’t dope’ and you accept their word and that’s it. You feel you don’t need to go any further than that.

WOW, just WOW!

Walsh is taking Murdoch's shilling.

It's the old nutrition is a smokescreen for doping, oldest trick in the book.

Sky riders can lose weight without an accompanied drop in energy not because their on AICAR but because they don't eat sh*t like Nutella.

they still have glutenfree up their sleeve for greater marginal returns

It seems that the question; "Is Walsh on the Sky bandwaggon", has morphed to: "Is Walsh holding the reins"?

Yes. the question for me now is. Is Walsh really this naive and blinded by his fanboyism, or was this a calculated PR move from the beginning?

Ask yourself this. Did Sky clean up the sport? Nope who did? UCI? yeah McQuaid really wanted a clean sport!

So who changed this doping culture? The doping DS's, the doping doctors, the soignuers, the riders who want desperately to win or get another contract, who, when and how did they change the culture of doping?

So if this culture has not changed and i dont believe it has how come Sky can win the biggest race 2 years in a row and make look like a walk in the park?

Sorry you believe in Miracles.

Have another glass of water with a dash of pineapple juice :D

All the tour winners have their own thread, go search. Contador is a doper, everyone in here knows that even his biggest fans.

" WalshI remember at this year’s Tour, David Lopez turned up at the Tour. At the table, he was eating Nutella. Because he was relatively new to the team, he had no idea of how that would offend his teammates. But it did offend them. They just didn’t like it, as in, “That stuff is no good for you. We’re here to eat the right food, and you bringing that to the table is lowering the dietary and nutritional standard.”

SKY don't tolerate Nutella= SKY is clean:p

They have to be really, how could you draw any other conclusion..?

wonderful logic isn't it? :D
the Nutella Theory is what turned me into a Walsh believer….
