At least RR was smart enough not to include working with Motoman on his list. Does it take balls to ask the question to Walsh's face? I don't get the point you are trying to make. If he brings his traveling road show on that rushed to market money grabbing book he wrote, I'd ask him. Is he beyond reproach?

This article has been known for months. Just amazing it's now deemed some sort of new revelation.

Remember to first call him a sellout to his face like you did in his previous post. I'm sure he'd be very forthcoming in any questions you pose.

I have no problem with disagreements in his reporting(some do it constructively) but it's pretty clear around here, there is a certain clique who are willing to throw him and everyone under a bus and treat them like a piece of meat if he doesn't report 100% to their narrative and set agenda.

His reporting or lack of it earned him his treatment. Sky got their Sally Jenkins in Walsh, only a guy who had more respect. Good on them.

Ever seen Sally Jenkins and David Walsh in the same room?

Right you are. He has become a Sally. And with the book coming out the circle will complete.

funny that walsh hasn't mentioned it anywhere.
probably doesn't think it's important.

Funny that you never acknowledged it until now after it was highlighted to you.

We have this now and Walsh's piece on JTL. Not bad for journalists who are sellouts.

What newspapers reported this before them?

l'equipe printed a doping story on JTL. That's where it all started.

In additional the passport letter is private to JTL, how could anyone else print it?

Except for Sky PR Rep David Walsh?

precisely....
And the day he said sky's poor performances in the classics are evidence of a clean team...amazing.
Or the day he said to me that it is currently too difficult to dope on a gt...logistically as much as anything.

Or the article at the end of the tour where he talked about why we should believe in froome...then spent half talking about db taking a team photo on the bus with his phone...about the pineapple flavoured water...
The other half had him taking the word of another person on froome's blood values...(maybe he asked to see those values, in which case he should have said i asked but they were not made available)...he mentioned tue's...again did he see medical records to back this up? Or just the word of another person...then we had a couple of paragraphs on how froome had amazing talent but was raw tactically...amazing how his tactics and bilharzia improved in three weeks from poland to spain in 2011...
Race radio has said there are no rumours of sky or riders questioning like usp...not true...i have spoken to a current rider who did poland with froome in 2011, saw him sprinting cobo in 2011 and said this is a joke.
Back to walsh...how can he be so oblivious to all this...it's not good enough. And again like the day i had to tell him about wiggins and landis, the day he was going to interview wiggins, it denotes a lack of knowledge at the very least.
With usp he went in and did his own digging...with sky he accepted everything..no follow up questions...very little of his own investigating (wiggins' blood values for example)....is he on the bandwagon? Not technically, but he has become what he loathed...a fan with a typewriter...a bill strickland type figure.

I once asked him did the way other journos treat you during the lance years bother you...he said i would have had to respect them first...how the wheel turns.

*applauds*

Walsh mentioned that there was a possibility that they totally ignored that article even with full knowledge of it. That's a criticism of Sky and one where he doesn't stand up for them.

Walsh was the first on this particular one.

Walsh is first, well of course. Because the BP letter is a private letter to JTL.

Walsh with his exclusive access to Sky was privy to it.

Why would any other paper have access?

And why would any other paper care? JTL is a nobody outside of the UK. Even in the UK he is a nobody.

Come on, Gooner. The world is not Sky. People in Spain read about their stars.

I see you endorse a post calling him a sellout.

Just curious did you have the ***** to to call him that exact same word right to his kisser when you were talking to him.

I'm not here to defend RR as he's more than well capable of doing that himself but a rider who thinks Froome is doping is not and nowhere near like the substantial evidence below. A rider's hunch or strong suspicion is not that no matter what you believe.

I argued with him...and even in the chat he said this could be dangerous - us brahcning onto Sky...so yes i brought all this up...however that was may...and it has become way worse since then...ignoring speeds for example.

I said race said other riders wren't talking or that there weren't rumours...this is not true...mechanics are also talking...as are other riders in the peleton.

On the TUEs or BP data, again Walsh is not a hematologist and even if he had one on speed dial has no way of verifying such data. Who can Walsh ask to verify how many TUEs Sky had? The UCI?

That rider you asked - that's not a rumour, it's an opinion. That's all.

You asked a rider their opinion, they gave it and you use it - ironically, you dismiss Walsh for doing the same thing with Vaughters, ie asking someone who may have better knowledge or information, their opinion.

I never asked that rider - he emailed me...next....

But anyway that's two different arguments- talking about that rider i was referencing radio's previous post that there wasn't rumours etc re: sky from within the peleton...when that's not the case...so you have mangeld two points into one there.

I don't know how many more times i have to say this - he told me he would get an expert to look at the blood values...i did not expect him to do this himself...so again that's a strawman...

(i will now get a dictionary definition of strawman and the thread will derail into three pages on what a strawman argument is)

By the way you say he has been consistent, but not always...where has he been consistent in relation to sky?
And do you think he has done a good job this year?

I have said since day one - if he wants to believe sky areclean, ok...i would disagree but i would respect him and the way he does his work, if he would do his job properly...this year has been embarassing and to see you and mas defending him so vocifersouly is amazing...
Not even his good friend kimmage thinks he has done well this year...to saythe least

Where did I write this? Of course some Pro's have questioned Froome performance, but I have yet to hear any rumors of direct knowledge of doping

Digger - I have actually treated you very well and I have taken on board your opinions (that is all they are) - so do not throw out this crap.

I will answer your second question first - "good"? Might be a bit strong, its been ok.

He has been consistent in general in how he writes with the information he has. His early work on LA/Ferrari/USPS also had many qualifiers.

But I was not impressed with the final piece on Froome and in particular his mob comments and the final few paragraphs.

So yeah it's a huge difference alright

leinders, sutton kicked

rest all personal interpretations. i get it that you don't like Sky, no need to write 500 chars with how you see Sky and present it like some proving facts or something like that.

It's not about me not liking sky - I don't that's true - but this thread is about Walsh this year. And his work on them.

His fawning tweets during the Giro were an embarrassment - could anyone imagine kimmage doing that.

Could you elaborate on that?

All I could find was that Sutton thought Vicky Pendleton's relationship with Scott Gardner was unethical (though obviously not illegal)

Thanks for proving my point, it is a huge difference. A stark contrast.

Do you have link to the Carbon Monoxide and the Sutton story?

The most advanced notorious doping doctor in the sport!

Much mayonnaise on that statement?!

Just as well Sky hired Yates & Motoman to implement Ferrari's notorious and advanced work.

Every student needs a good teacher

The CO stories have been doing the rounds.

I spoken to several people who've heard about them in relation to Sky.

Wiggins smoking is said to be one of the side effects of the cravings that relate to its use.

Most guys wont go near the stuff. Dangerous with a capital D.

Kerrison appears to be comfortable enough with it.
