"E. Vernon, or, in the interest of the riders confidentiality, lets call him Ethan V, was seen crying in his room."

I would say it's one of his sillier moments but the bar for unseriousness is quite high with Adams, having Christopher Froome do PR appearances in the Golan Heights a personal favourite, I thought it was satire at first.
if it is the rider, then he is 25 years old. why he is crying ?

where did you come with the story that chris froome made such pr appearance in the Golan heights, it sound really bogus story to me!

Their manager is talking about how their riders have been assaulted, insulted and threatened not only in this Vuelta but also in other races (e.g. CSS). Kicks on their cars, insulting and spitting on riders when they are going for team presentation before stages.
He said they were also criticized in the Giro and Tour but some people were protesting peacefully, not what is happening in the Vuelta where people are protesting violently.
This manager also said IPT have a 25 years old rider of 1.90 m and he cried like a baby (in his room) for 30 minutes due to this insecurity on the roads for IPT riders.

Regardless of any other issues I do feel sympathy for the riders going through direct intimidation and I would not blame any of them for feeling significant anxiety and trepidation about the Individual Time Trial from a roadside interference standpoint.

According to PCS, they have 13 riders leaving (one not until the end of January) and only Askey coming in from the outside (+ Gilmore from development team). Transfer activity does not speak to strong commitment to next season.
From a sporting perspective I hope the team doesn’t end up limping on with a barely CT level squad riding around world tour races contributing nothing to the racing action.

There is a very similar parallel with Salford Red Devils Rugby League club this year who due to financial collapse had to sell many players mid season and release others to get their contracts off the books. Players and staff have frequently been paid weeks late and the team have barely scraped together a full squad of 17 by loaning kids from other teams not physically ready for elite competing to the point where at times it has been dangerous.

Cycling is not a physical contact sport in the same way but you don’t want to see a situation where multiple riders are finishing OTL in world tour races or the whole team DNFing monuments.

don't play naive.
i say you are just spreading stories and gossip about riders , team and owner.
What do you mean? The information has been mentioned publicly by a team member and a DS, and it's reasonably easy to work out who they're talking about from the information given.

But also. Why shouldn't Ethan Vernon cry about the situation at the Vuelta? What is wrong with that? I would probably cry if I had to ride around Spain with protesters targeting me and my team, disrupting us on the road and constantly insulting us, with the constant worry that they could actually do a rider some sort of physical harm. We need to move past this ridiculous idea that it is somehow embarrassing for adult men to cry, because it isn't.

Well, in every sports there are teams that are hated or despised more than the others; I guess being Froome's teammates in that infamous 2015 Tour had to be quite an experience. But riders knew who they were signing for back then as they did for a team with israel on the jersey [content deleted].
Nobody forced this contract on the riders, so take the money, smile or cry - don't care - just don't play the victim beacuse some fans hates what you represent: this is also part of the sport.

I strongly recommend the riders on this team to look into breaking contracts citing safety concerns. Just like any other business with limited future, you just don't want to be the last man on the sinking ship.
Recent The Move podcast makes reference to Instagram or Twitter posts praising the teams refusal to succumb to protesters pressure. Unable to say who tweeted without violating forum rules.
I would completely disagree with what you think you see, components of the economy that support the team are robust, far from a sinking ship, your perspective is widely held, but there are other camps that are even more motivated by protesting and it only strengthens their resolve to carry on with the team in the face of protesters. So your view is protesters are using effective tactics and look to be running Israel Premier Tech out of town, other school of thought, we need to invest more in the team and will never roll over from the protesters... and rumor mill has Girmay signing with the team, The Move podcast further the rumors.
I personally think that race organizers are dishonest, disingenuous about proclaiming that they can provide adequate security for the race, obvious that is a false claim.

16 riders, or so, for 2026. Not a team for Girmay.

I agree and if they get additional backing pretty tough sell to attract any talent.
Johan Bruyneel used a bunch of words describing his chats with people involved, he said it's really abusive to riders and staff, dangerous and people are afraid,
Guys like Riccitello in real limbo. He could likely get a ride somewhere else, same with Gee, but market is going to be hard with other transfers and team consolidation.
I watch tons of sports and see many TV commercials. During Vuelta on channel I am watching excellent ( imo) television spots for Turkish tourism, and Northern Italy. Seen ads for Croatia.. Most have some outdoor elements to the advertising.

And I see a few from Israeli tourism similar vibe, showing outdoor, fine dining, historical attractions. Don't know how effective the message is at this point.
If part of the Israel Premier Tech team objective is to portray an athletic, inviting, curiosity aspects of Israel, Israeli travel opportunities don't know about return on investment currently.
I am nobody to judge for sure but if they are participating in soft cell, sports washing.. I personally don't see the message.
T-Rex? Quickstep? Lease a Bike? Trek,BH, ? Movistar, Astana? I buy into that messaging and branding, some others.
I support Alpecin because of all the awesome hair on the team and my desire for chia pet hair growth myself.
Traveled to Bahrain and UAE via Navy experience, not tourism..

I know it's always possible to find some crazy *** on twitter if one looks for it, but I've seen more than one death threat against the only Jew in the Vuelta, one of them specifically mentioning the ITT.
When will people realise that online is not the real world and is often purely used as a PR and propaganda tool by anonymous accounts. It can be a cesspit at times.

So, will the UCI do something or they will bury their heads in the sand pretending than nothing is happening?
My fear is that what started in this Vuelta may hurt cycling even more in the future.
All thanks to the stubborn owner of IPT.
