I'd think Bilbao will go for the overall victory, and attack on the Gorla descent (it's early, but the most technical one, and he needs a gap before the steepest climb). So they'll probably try to get Lulu and Mäder or Novak in the breakaway, but mainly to help him.

Novak looks super strong, btw. Same as in the 2020 Giro. Don't think I've seen him since.

Could definatly see this happening. Think they can get Martinez in huge trouble on the descent.

Ion probably has the same plan.

In theory. But if he's cooked, he's cooked, and they could drop him on easier slopes just as well. He should resist going deep into the red before the last climb. I don't think they'll drop him by minutes on the steeper climbs, so he might still come back if he has a bit of help of teammates or rivals with a common goal.
But if he goes in overdrive, there might not be any coming back. So far he's surprised me because after Valencia and TA, with his current weight, i was expecting him to have been dropped earlier this week.
But like i said before, he has to hope a break makes it and takes the bonis away. If he has to sprint for it, it's a done deal and near impossible assuming Martinez is still there.

It is a flat sprint, however. The climb tops out ~1.5km from the finish. Similar to Mende, just a longer, less steep climb. If Remco is in a small group with Martinez, he needs to simply go full gas from 1km out. Perhaps Martinez would be cooked from following him

Christian Prudhomme after stage 4. Rogla i came personally to make sure you win. Rogla thinking OK, but drop the cobbles on the Tour or i won't win. Prudhomme thinking to himself. Nah, you are bluffing. Then stage five happened.

P.S. Wouldn't be surprised if in the next couple of days the cobbles sections will get adjusted a bit, quietly.

It's actually his San Sebastian hat, but I suspect it's similar to the Basque one. I am not an expert in hats.

Hopefully Alaphilippe can do something back for Evenepoel and stay with him until the final climb. Martinez is favorite with only two seconds to make up, but Vlasov is still dangerous as well.

Yea, it's a big ask for Remco to pull this one off. It would, however, should he somehow do it, be a huge step forward in his progress. And even if he arrives with the best sprinting at the finish, but loses to Martinez (the most likely candidate), it would be the same for his career thus far.

Because if he can handle these climbs on the last stage of this race, I think he's ready to take on if only for experience the Tour. In fact, if he were to win this or take second place, I'd take him to the Dauphine and, based on his performance there, bring him to the Tour. By contrast, if he gets significantly dropped today, I'd stay with the Vuelta plan.

Also nice to see Felix Gall finish 13th, leaving DSM was the right move for him.
Really? Highly surprising!! :O

I cant wait until Søren actually figures out what absolute *** tier team hes riding for. I hope his salary is 2x what he could find elsewhere, otherwise he got scammed

Some guys just really randomly peak at DSM. No one knows why.

He has done better than most at that team, lets be honest, but the team didnt want him to ride Tour of Flanders for crying out loud. What absolute morons.

No need for Remco to go to the Dauphine. He's already doing Suisse, which has a longer TT. Would be the same tour warm up
