Martinez is gonna win this if Ineos decides to drill it. They have the team to do the damage. Fraile, Thomas, Yates and Carlos.

I can't see Remco going with the real climbers here.

Linguistically perhaps :)

6 mins already to the bunch. Interestingly the chase group are losing ground not gaining
Probably the best thing QS can do. If Martinez thinks he'll need the boniseconds, Ineos will have to chase.

I was meaning the group with Kamna, Ellisonde, Houle etc on the chase group losing time. I had presumed they'd bridge to the leaders pretty easy but they're just slipping back. Maybe the better climbers are saving to try join up on Azurki.

They'll need to do something at some point because the breakaway gap is growing, i.e. for Quick Step it's in their interest to see the breakaway get to the end & win (to take those bonus seconds). Ineos can't just sit there IMO & hope Evenepoel cracks.

Basque TV is already on with highlights of yesterday.
The showed live images for a few seconds with Ineos leading the peloton.

With the depth Ineos has, they can play this in a few ways, but the sooner they'll lay down the first cards, the better.

Ideal situation with this group ahead tho. Noone dangerous for GC so Ineos needs to do all the work if they want boni's

I think they can let the break win? It's only 2s they need on Remco and you'd expect Martinez can do that on a day like this,

Frankly I think the safest move for Ineos is to remove Boni possibilities for Vlasov and Vingegaard given the comparatively large gap they need to close.

Sometimes people say "LS" to reference Lotto-Soudal and I read things like "LS will be going all out for a sprint today" or "LS backing Caleb Ewan all the way" and since a lot of people abbreviate my username I sometimes think "no I'm goddamned not".
And I spent several years thinking people were greatly overestimating my chances in Grand Tours before I realised they were talking about Contador.
