Schmid sat up when he saw he couldn't win.

The point I made that in the final km, Sobrero followed what you would think was the right wheel, but they got washed away because Schmid didn't glue himself to Bagioli's wheel which was exacerbated by Valter whipping around the field and then putting on the brakes.

Interesting that Higuita mentioned that he had the advantage of knowing yesterday's finale from the Klasika Primavera. The only thing both races have in common are the final 4k, and to me it didn't really look like a kind of sprint where knowledge of the roads matters much.

But last time he did Primavera, he managed to get boxed in and finished 4th in a sprint of 4, so maybe that's what he was referring to. He certainly improved on that.

Hopefully we'll get to see the whole Krabelin. TV coverage is scheduled to start just before the bottom of the climb.

Should depend on if they the race coverage starts at 15.30 or if the *** with previews and interviews starts at 15.30.

In 2021 they did the stretch from the first climb (starting at 10km) to the start of Krabelin in 1 hour 28 minutes, and that was with the Gorla descent being attacked and the section between Gorla and Krabelin being hard paced.

This would also ignore the neutralized start and the first flat section of ~8km.

Eurosport at 15:30, Basque coverage from 14:30. I think it was the same last year, and no it doesn't make any sense.
The Basque coverage is available here:

Stream works with a VPN, live images are almost on (update 14:45).

Valter and Kruijswijk in the break.

Perfect for Vingegaard.
So what happens if he has a mechanical/small crash before a climb?
Jumbo showing once again that they win with brute strength and despise their team tactics, not because of them...

He has two riders with him now.

The break will be caught after Krabelin and then he will still not be isolated. This is perfect.

Even if they won the Tour partly thanks to this concept of satellite riders, some people still don't get it... this is way better for them than chasing all day.

I would commit animal sacrifices to not have to watch pre race interviews when they're literally on the most important climb of the day

Valter not as good here as in the previous stages. Kruijswijk should still be in a useful position after the climb though.
