Reading the Itzulia forum thread today was more fun than the TV coverage. My guess: Remco lost 15 seconds from his sliding crash. Rog lost 8 seconds from his wrong turn at the end. ... GC battle should be good. Many contenders.

Mystery about Jonas...... He seems to habitually shed time in time trials during the season, yet he delivers one of the most sensational time trials this century in the TDF.

It's hard to know where his actual ability is as a time trialer!!
That “mysterious” indeed ;)

No, not at all. He never left. Besides; there are several very vocal forum fan bases that don't include him in the Preminent 2. We shan't discuss him in the same sentences with the Holy Duo.
I see him as the old king that has seen the holy trinity pass him, for now. The old king might reclaim his throne, while there is a pretender that keeps lurking around in the dark wanting to be viewed in the same light as the others. Waving for justice and wanting to give pizza to everyone, but only the unfaithful can be blinded by this illusion. This mirage has sent many into banishment of the premises, but once bitten there is no cure and they keep coming back.

Then there is the sixth one. A noble knight. He is always mentioned and touted to win in the big races, but never does. He fights, but often falls on his own sword.

Who will be seventh wonder, you may ask? I do not know the answer to this question, but the one who seeks will find him. That is all for now.

Chapeau Roglic on the win and Vine & Skjelmose for the podium spots. Vingegaard should be glad for the misfortunes of Roglic & Remco otherwise he'd be even further behind.

Very interesting TT with two main takeways:

- Roglič is back after a disappointing Paris Nice, he time trials its way to his first win of the season even with that wrong turn he took along the way. Now, he can play defense during the rest of the race and as we know he is a master at that.

- Vingegaard has to start getting worried with his subpar TT performances. Sure, he has an impressive TT record at the Tour but its already his third TT in a row where he loses significant time to at least one of his GC rivals.
While he might still make the time back in the remaining stages this is not exactly the kind of parcours where he can easily do that and he was actually lucky that both Roglič and Remco had mishaps otherwise the damage would have been bigger.

Honurable mentions to Vine, Skjelmose and Buitrago who did very good TTs for what was expected of them while Remco saved the day after crashing. Expected a bit more from Ayuso, McNulty and Landa.

I just saw the news. Very impressed with Roglic. What happened to Remco? and more important did the forum crash this morning?
